• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

What have you done for Heated Gear Wiring, inc Location - '20+ RT's?

OK, I have my 2020 RTL now, so I'm thinking, how do I do add an SAE plug for the heated vest? On the old Honda trike, I Just ran a wire off the battery, quite simple. I'd rather not do that with the new Spyder, bad things would probably happen. I may not need a heated vest, but what if?

Not sure why you would think BAD things would happen. I just wired mine yesterday and not a problem. I did a little research and it looks like the 1330 engine output on the alternator is 1200watts . This should be plenty to run a jacket liner or vest etc. How can I help you with your issue

Any thing you have done in the past will most likely work on this bike also!! Go for it!!

Bill just run your wires straight off the battery as befor on the GW. Since you are coming from the battery to the vest direct there is no problem.

Thanks much for all the confidence, I will run the wires. Read some comments on SL, or somewhere, use caution with wiring on the Syder, so I'm good to go with the comments here.

I ran the wires from my battery to the controller and put heat knobs on top of the dash and for the passenger on the left handle rail area.

So everything is under the plastic except for the controller knobs and small lights.

Looking to run some wires for heated gear on my 2020 RT Limited from the battery back.
Any idea or suggestions on an easy or good place to run the wires?
On the 2015 RT Limited I removed all the panels, basically stripped it down to run the wires and hide them, I was wondering if there is a little easier way?

Thanks

I have mine mounted in the center console.

The wires go straight to battery

That is where my garage door opener is. Also, you can put a splitter from one to the other.

I ran from the battery up into the glove box. I won't be riding dual in the cold weather and I just leave the glove box unsnapped while using the 12v cord. Seemed easy to do for me I might at some point change it but it seems fine for Doug just the way it is. Not fancy but gets it done and I didn't have to pull any panels off. Just used a long plastic wire tie up under the panel and pulled it into the glove box.

I mounted mine lower on the left and the passenger one next to the heat switches. Both are run directly to the battery, which has the added benefit of being able to plug my battery maintainer into either one.
