It's the 1330 ACE engine with semi-automatic SE6 transmission.

All you need is the engine oil filter, a seal kit (O-Rings & drain plug washers), 6 quarts of oil, a few tools and the time to do the work.

I can send you everything you need in the way of a filter kit. I ship all over the world. International shipping is not real speedy these days because of the Covid-19 situation. But if you order ahead, it works well. It is also more cost effective to purchase more than one service kit at a time. I am sure you can find some good quality, fully synthetic 10w/40 or 15w/40 motorcycle oil there in Portugal to finish things off.

No, I specifically recommend a 10w/40 for most Spyder/Ryker owners. This is a case of BRP recommending what they have rather than what would be best. Nothing wrong with a 5w/40, per se. But a 10w/40, or even a 15w/40 is a much better fit. I've detailed this in other posts so I hate to be redundant with the details. But unless you're parking your Spyder outside in sub-zero temps (as a snowmobile might experience). You do not need a 5w startup viscosity.

The 998 Rotax V-Twin was originally developed for the Aprilia. An Italian crotch rocket. Rotax recommended a 20w/50 weight oil for that engine. However, when BRP put the same engine in the Spyder. They recommended a 10w/40 oil. Why? Because BRP did not produce a 20w/50 oil. Then when BRP dropped the 10w/40 viscosity, they changed their recommendation to a 5w/40. They've gone much more to a One Size Fits All approach. Eliminating a number of lubricants to consolidate their product line.

I do sell Amsoil 10w/40 motorcycle oil. But that is not why I recommend this viscosity spread. I recommend it regardless of what brand oil you purchase because it is simply a better fit for the Spyder. For those who ride regularly in triple digit temps I recommend 15w/50 or 20w50. I don't sell Amsoil Internationally (except for Canada) because shipping would be insanely high. Amsoil has warehouses in Canada, so I can have it shipped to my Canadian customers without having to cross the border or deal with import duties, etc.

Remember, the crankcase drain plug is a T45 Torx bit and the clutch cover drain plug is 6 mm Allen.
