• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

What did you pay for your 9,000 mile service?

I am nearing the 9,000 mile checkup. The quoted price I received was for $800.00 and over 5 hours of labor. What was your experience/cost?
Thats Unreal!
No way could I afford to own my Spyder if I had to fork out that kind of cash for an oil change and a routine inspection at every scheduled maintenance interval!

$150 dollars average cost for doing it myself with top of the line products.

I really feel bad for those owners who can't do their own service jobs.

If they are changing the plugs and oil, then that price is very good if you're getting the whole thing for that price! I also don't know what to think about plugs at 9000 miles, seems like a scam, will they really change the plugs? They sure don't need to be changed!!! Good luck!!

My first service wasn't bad. Supposedly it's replacing the spark plugs that takes most of the time.
Direct from the 2025 owners manual:
Spark plugs Replace Every 5 years or 45 000 km(28,000 mi). No earlier inspection is listed. If a dealer is tearing the byke down to inspect spark plugs at 9k miles, they're ripping off customers :( As noted, spark plugs are lasting a long time.

What's included for that price? For that kinda dough you should be getting an alignment and belt tension check and all the other normal stuff. As others have stated, it's too early for a plug change.

If not, that price is crazy and you need to look for another shop for the work.

Just a follow up to my original post

My 3,000 mile service cost was $503.00
According to CanAm maintenance Schedule Spark plugs are to be replaced every 5 years or every 28,000 miles. Not at the 9,000 mile checkup

Thanks to all that responded

Without knowing exactly what is being done. It is impossible to evaluate if you're getting a reasonable deal with these services.

The downside to all of this is, do you really know what is being done? There is always a potential difference between claimed service and actual service. We see it much too often. Of course, we are going to see customers who are not happy with their dealer. If your dealer is making you happy, you're probably not going to travel 100 miles to get your ride serviced elsewhere.
