• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

What are normal engine sounds

I've just purchased a 2014 RT-S three days ago, and now noticing a low volume siren type sound at idle. Is this normal or something I need to have looked into?

varoom, varoom....

Give a bit more time. They tend to have sounds while things are braking in. If it worries you run by the dealer and let them listen to it or some other ryders where you can listen to theirs....

At 39 to 41 I hear a whine? Not sure where it's coming from. Goes away at lower and higher speeds

I hear shrieks, screams, and loud yelling! :yikes:
But then: I usually wake up, and get us back into our lane! :roflblack:

And I bet it doesn't even matter how fast you're goin' either....LOL:yikes: If you hear a slap to the back of your helmet, that's when you got problems!!:sour:

Engine Noise

I worried about the noise also. We went from a 2001 Goldwing to a 2011 RT. They are a lot louder than a wing. But you get use to it after you ride for awhile. Just enjoy the ride and have fun.

I was quite surprised at the noise difference between the 998 and the 1330. I do hear some different noises on the 2016. Maybe they were there on the 2012 just couldn't hear them over 998??

I've heard some really disturbing and horrible sounding 1330 motors. They all seem to have an odd, sometimes very "interesting" sound. However, they seem to keep on going, so I'd say to ride on!

I had to run some errands today, so I took the RT!.
Is anyone here confusing tire noise, and engine/transmission noise? :dontknow:
These critters have two tires, with relatively flat contact surfaces up front; they're going to make a fair amount of noise; no matter what you do to the rest of the bike... nojoke
