• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

so let me see if i can say this with out cursing. when i called the :cus:ing service manager today he said to me, come get your bike at 4 30 because we want to make sure it is perfect for you, so i asked the lil :cus: if there were any changes from brp made to the bike and he said no just the canister. now the other day when i dropped the bike off i asked if he can install the new elka shocks for me being he had the lift and he said sure. i figured there would be a charge but it would be worth it to me have them do it for a few bucks.
i get there today at 4 pm and he say's the bike is ready, so i asked what do i owe you for the shocks, and he said 252.00 for the install at that point i said are you :cus:ing kidding me and he said nope. at that point he tells me that the new canister is in and a couple of new hoses and the heat tape, he also checked my cruise that was not working so he re did that with the computer and downloaded a few updates from brp.
so i payed the bill and went out to my bike. i tipped the mechanic 20 bucks and thanked him start the bike up put my helmet and gloves on than i get on the bike to back it up to turn it around and my :cus:ing hand brake is not working so i had to remember to hit the brake pedal. i come to a stop and put on the parking brake and i get a orange screen saying parking brake failure, so i go get them, they can't figure out what happened and said we will have to take it apart and look at it but it is closing time. so being :cus:ing fed up i said i am not taking the bike and i sent my friend home that drove me here so give me a loaner. but they don't give out loaners, so i said call me a cab and i will give you the bill, at that point they said we will have one of our guys drive you home.
so than i said if you have any questions on the hand brake call me on monday and i will come by with my car and show you how it works, but guess what they are :cus:ing closed on monday and i have to wait till tuesday b4 they can take the bike apart and look at it again. the bike was fine when it went in, no codes and no orange screens and the parking brake worked just fine, so the only thing i can figure is that whatever update they got from brp messed something up on the bike, and working on the bike some how they messed up the hand brake assembly. i am loving this bike more and more every waking moment of my life.

John: is this the new dealer or is it the one I suggested last month that you run away from?

Unless, they did other work outside of warranty work they stuck it to you BIG TIME. It takes about 30 minutes or so to R&R front shocks. Don't let them get away with the over charge. If that's what it is. Meaning they did nothing else for you. Then....FIND ANOTHER DEALER......PRONTO

:gaah:

The problems should have noting to do with the update. Whatever they took apart they did not get back together correctly. As was said, if you ever get it back, run, don't walk to another dealer.

they said they had to pull the nose off and when i put the shocks in from elka and had to remove them because they were leaking i had to take the nose off. so i got charged for 2 1/2 hrs work at 52 bucks a hr.

brake

i didn't know that they had to wrap the brake cable because when he showed me the kit last week it was a small plastic bag, are you sure it was part of the heat issue

:agree::agree::agree:

if I could get $250 labor to install Elkas, I'd do nothing but ride my trike all over the USA with a 15mm wrench and socket installing those bad boys. As others have pointed out, it is a 20 minute job, if they round up to 1/2 hour no prob. But $250 is WAY beyond gouging. If you keep the Spyder,,, NEVER darken their door again. Dealers like that hurt everyone. :banghead:

fed up

not only am i fer up but i am about to give up on this bike and go back to two wheels or quit riding all together

The more we hear, the more it sounds like you have a dealer with mechanical abilities from :cus:.

When it comes out of the shop with more issues than it had when you brought it in--that's some kind of a sign.

Also sounds like you got taken a bit on the shock install. I do like the $52 per hour though--I have to pay $110.

I know you will keep us posted. It is looking more and more like its the dealer and not the :spyder2: that is defective.

i made a mistake on the price and time, he gets 52 dollars every half hr. clock time

Time to call the BRP President....:chat:....if you know what I mean....nojoke

one thing about dealers never assume a price all ways get it writing before they do the job.

tell them what you exactly want done to your bike. So when it is done they can't stick it to

you. the tech do exactly whats on the work order and nothing else. even super small jobs

ask for price. you can always say NO thanks. Make sure the second time they are not

charging you. Make sure.
