• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Welcome new members announcements

I like the new feature of the welcome to new members. However it is hard to welcome them if you can'e add to that thread. I tried to give a welcome to Testacc the first new member welcome that I saw and it would not accept it. so I guess I will have to start a new thread for that. And now I see another new one as well. I think it would be good to be able to add my own welcome as an addition to the original welcome post.

Strange as I was just able to add to the thread for the last additional new member. Wow AnthonyG sure wears a lot of hats. Thanks!!!

You did not pick up on the the user name "Testacc". Which would stand for Test Account. I would think anyway. That's why it was locked right away. It was just a test.

There was multiple test signups to get the script working correctly, as it wasnt originally designed to work on a site that new users get moderated, as this site does.

I use it on multiple sites, but the new users on those sites arent moderated, this site has a case of spambot signups, i've cut them down so far with new coding to stop bot's, but its still hard to check actual ppl doing it, but also have some stuff for them as well.

If i can get 40-60% of the new users active on their own signup post, they typically stay & remain active on the site, thats what its all about in a forum community.
