Having only a RT A/C I have 2 open rocker switches on the dash. Has anyone engineered putting a USB outlet (preferrrably whether proof) in the empty rocker switch slot?
Wazoo, I was wondering if you were able to find a rectangled weather proofed usb switch for the rocker slot? @Bullant12 idea was brilliant but the previous owner had the CB kit inatalled and the circle in use, so I need to use the free bays on the right.Having only a RT A/C I have 2 open rocker switches on the dash. That's a pretty cool location to have it, but I have a cellphone holder that will not work for me as the cable will go outside and may bend the rubber seal.I did this....![]()
Did you buy the spyder dock or does he has a usb port that would fit the switch bay?Just bought the dual usb port for my RT from Lamonster's Garage. Just have to install it now.

Technically true, but I have used mine in the rain lots of times. Low voltage doesn't conduct in water very well.
That's not the concern. Corrosion of those tiny contacts is.Technically true, but I have used mine in the rain lots of times. Low voltage doesn't conduct in water very well..
Possibly, but a little dielectric grease fixes that. That's not the concern. Corrosion of those tiny contacts is.

Same as I posted above from Amazon for $6 cheaper.Check out JT's Spyder Store for a product called, Carchet Car 3.1. It's a dual USB power outlet that fits in the center empty rocker switch slot. Looks like original equipment manufacture when installed. Has blue illumination, making it visible at night.
