• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

US Shooting is my Olympic sport

....Shooting is not alone in this category. Consider curling. Most people outside of Canada have never even heard of that activity much less played it. How about archery and all the 'demonstration' events? Anything that is judged instead of scored is an exhibition and politics has historically been a great influence of judging (think figure skating/dancing)......

Consider: "A sport is an athletic competition between two or more human participants whose purpose is to outscore the opponent within a given set of rules, judged by absolute scoring and not esoteric judging, without intentional injury to either party, and does not include the use of vehicles, weapons, cards or animals."

Well said. I couldn't agree with you more.

What about NASCAR?:D

NASCAR, and other vehicle activities have almost always been called "motorsports" putting them in a sub-class of sport. In the old days it was not common to have an athlete in the drivers seat. Not any longer. Nevertheless, I still would not call any vehicle racing activity (other than skating or biking) a 'sport'.

A study several years ago found that the most athletic of athletes were soccer players followed closely by motocrossers. Both require the upmost physical abilities and endurance and as someone who has done both (not professionally though) I can say I might have reversed the order but mox nix.

Olympic Shooting Sports: the single Olympic Sport that has never had a participant suffer an injury...
...Just sayin'...

But how can this possibly be??? Guns kill people.....why aren't people dying during these shooting competitions? This is so strange to me. I don't understand.....:gaah:
