On Saturday I installed my new Ultimate seat (no fuel door, with backrest, and Ultimate passenger backrest) and Diamond R armrests. The installation was straightforward and uncomplicated thanks to great instructions and info posts from other Spyderlovers. Covering all open holes is a must (a hinge bolt bounced off the tape over the battery access hole.)
On Sunday, we burned a tank of fuel on the Southern Maryland back roads for a first road test. The back seat commander gave both a 2 thumbs up and I immediately noticed a positive difference with the seat. It feels a little firmer and a little slipperier than stock seat. The reduced vibration thru the seat is noticeable. My back-seater said 2 miles out of the drive "its smoother now. What did you do?" We are looking forward to longer rides as it warms up this spring.
The Diamond R armrests also made the ride a lot more enjoyable for her. She particularly likes the storage from the pouch on the armrests and the backrest.
Next weekend. The Spyder gets a Smoothspyder installed, Spyderpops Missing Belt Guard, and the new Gloryders.
I love the springtime!
