• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Type of oil needed

Hello everyone... I know that I have to have Full synthetic oil but does it have to be Motorcycle oil or can I use 5w 30 Fully syntethic oil from Premium Prestone products?

Do not use 5W-30. The Spyder spec is for 5W-40, full synthetic or synthetic blend, motorcycle oil, suitable for wet clutches (No API SM rating). The spec is in your manual. The slightly heavier (when cold) 10W-40 is probably OK, but never use a lighter oil (when warm) than is specified.

Agreed!

You have to use oil for wet clutches [motorcycle oil].

Lots of folks use it with great success. I might myself, if it was more readily available locally.

Been using Amsoil 10w40 motorcycle oil in my Spyder for a year now and in other bikes and ATV`s for 15 yrs. +/-. No problems ever, not even in our racing ATV`s that were really abused hard. No engine wear at all when it was used!
