• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Trunk Rack.

Measure twice, drill once....😁

Just take your time so you get it right but not a tough install....

Ordered a show chrome black trunk rack. Any thing special about the install I need to know?
We need a few details, such as, what bike are you installing it on.

I have an RT and installed the show chrome black trunk rack.
Long before the trunk rack, I installed the custom dynamics high mount brake light.
The brake light interfered with the show chrome rack. I couldn't fit the rack on properly
Show chrome makes leg extensions. I needed to buy and install the extensions.
If I had not previously installed the high mount brake light, the rack would have installed straight out of the box without any modifications.

I hope this helps, but without further information on your install, I'm not sure that my experience may be useful.

New Spyder owner, and I'm not knocking the trunk rack. But have an honest question about it.

The warning label on my 2018 Limited says do not exceed 20 lbs load for the trunk. How do you fill the trunk up, then strap another bag on top of it without exceeding the 20 lb limit? I'm just wondering what your packing strategies for the trunk AND the trunk rack at the same time would be.

:roflblack: AF they never did have to carry bed rolls or sleeping bags, half tents. I sure did like going to their mess hall tho

You would be surprised how handy the rack is when your at a rally or bike show / swap meet, if you find something and the box is just a little to big to fit in the back trunk put it on the rack. 20lb is a lot for example, I just got a set of floorboards that came in a 15x10x6 inch box it only weighted 12lbs. Would have had to put that on the rack if I had taken the Spyder to a bike show.

Buy a second strut to hold the trunk open. The rack will make it a little too heavy for the stock strut to hold it open.

Just installed one on my 2014 RT Ltd, not a problem. Only thing I would recommend it to start off with a small drill and work up to the proper size. Looks great.

Safety chrome

I have a rack in "safety chrome " from the said company. I put the rain suits and cover ( plus a few sundries ) and it dosen't over load the trunk. Heavier things go in the two saddle bags ( which lowers the CG ). Cost was in the $200 range.

Darn tootin'. I stayed at Holiday Inns when I went TDY. Didn't need no stinkin' tent. :roflblack:

But you give AF "mess halls" too much credit. The Navy ones were much better. :bbq:
