• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

trouble with sterring

Hi everyone I am a new owner of a rt 2011 and when I got it I never test drove it and I am finding that it is sometimes hard to handle for something that has power steering, I am also haveing trouble with a noise coming from the rear when shifting. I took it back to the dealer and the tech adjusted the belt and all and found no wearing any where's and Brp said that it is the belt and that they are working on it , and from the second week I got my spyder the brakes screeching noise and the tech said that my warrentie doesn't cover it and I think that is bull to I am still driving and I love it . I wish I could just get the bugs out of it.
Thank You from wv

:welcome: and :congrats: on the new ryde.

Is your RT a SE5 or SM5?

Steering issues are usually caused by the tendency to overcontroll at first. Try driving with as little handlebar input as possible. Ther is a 250-500 mile learning curve. There are a few threads that cover this subject in detail.

Noise from transmission is usually the klunk from up and down shifting at lower rpm's on the SE5. Most recommend shifting at 4000 -- 4500 rpm's on the upshift--I like to also manually downshift. For me, about 4000 from 5 to 4 and 3000 the rest of the way.

If the tranny is making noises with the manual--that does not sound right.

Your dealer does not sound customer friendly--they should be bending over backwards to make sure that you are happy with your purchase, and that it has been properly set-up.

Others will chime in with more information.

3rd Generation Brake Pads

You would think a 2011 would come with 3 gen brake pads since they've been out for awhile.:dontknow: However, here are the numbers, assuming the
RT pads are the same as the RS.
Front BR219800164
Rear BR219800165

If you have a 2011 you have the Gen 3 brake pads. The best thing you can do is take it out on a back road somewhere and do some hard straight line braking to help seat the pads.

Check your tire pressure too as far as the hard steering goes.

steering trouble

I have a RT,SE5 and I am tring to train myself on the steering so I am going to try and drive it every day if I can and see if it works . Saturday was a good day it handled good so maybe I am getting use to it. I am also going to talk to my tech about the brakes that are on it too . The noise is getting to me. Thanks for all of your info I really appreciate it and if you know of any spyder ralley coming up let me know k .
