• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Triple Play revisited

I was installing this today and ran into some problems. First off, I have the GIVI bag lights, and this request for :helpsmilie: is for anyone knowledgable about this application. I hate to seem like I'm :bdh: but this is really frustrating :gaah:

And yes I did :read: the instructions, such that they are. In a word... they SUCK!! and they have me  Anyway, complaining to them is just like :banghead:

here's the problem, the TP has three loose wires, the colors of which are wrong in the instructions, but I'm sure the :barf:'s at Custom Dynamics will never bother correcting it, and they are for this application. The instructions for the Givi bag lights explains to connect the + leads from the lights to these wires, which I did. One side worked fine, the other didn't work. I switched the leads and the otherside worked, but the opposite didn't. Now there is a black lead coming off the TP that is intended as a ground, but the connector attached to it is the straight in type, as opposed to the "tap in" style. If you've installed the TP along with the bags, please describe to me the specific wires you connected together. Thank you! LOL

Just to rant somemore about these PISS POOR instructions, there are TWO three wire connectors under the tail, there is only one on the TP. The instructions clearly say to connect the male and female three wire connector to THE three wire connector... Hello you doufuses!!! there are TWO, which one should we connect you idiots!!! <cough>... ok... that should do it for now... LOL, till I install the next Custom Dynamics DOG... roflmao

Thank you as usual for your help!! :2thumbs:

The triple play has 1 connection for each turn signal and 1 for a brake light connection, it doesn't matter which brake connection you use.

I recently had to replace my triple play also and had the same problems--- they changed the end plugs and color of the wires---- had to use multi-meter to figure out what went where.

My first triple play got toasted when my givi bag lights shorted out..... really wish they had incorporated a fuse on the triple play!

Contacted Evan since I bought it from him back when he was NMN. He said I'd have to deal with Custom Dynamics as they own everything now.

Not covered under warranty (which I really didn't expect) - but they also won't sell just the box-- had to buy a whole new kit.

So now I have the new unit installed and running-- but have had the right side go out from time to time. Thought it was a bad wire or connection --- nope-- seems that when the triple play box gets too hot the right side fails.

If it's cool out-- no problems -- but once hot--- the right side dies. Stop for dinner and things cool down--- it works again.... strange.

Anyone else have this happen?

Would you mind lettin' me know what wires you hooked to what? Also, should I incorporate an inline fuse? And an inline FAN (:joke: about that part.)

I'm sure it would be a hassle if you don't remember which wires went to which, but if you could recall, I'd really appreciate it. ATM I have the three loose wires unconnected and one three-wire "mystery" connector just hanging there.

I do appreciate any :helpsmilie:!!

:f_spider: on!!

Do you have too much hooked up to the triple play? Is that possible? What if you run the Givi bag lights ONLY to the brake lights...so, you don't get the fancy 3 blinks and constant, but they will still light up when you brake. The rear bag that you helpd me with has the Givi light installed...we tapped it to the brake light on the right...it is NOT connected through the triple play...works great...

Try the Givi bag lights tapped only to the brake lights...skip the triple play...see if this clears up the right side going out...think this might help?
