• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Planning a trip across Lake Michigan on the "Badger." Has anyone else done this? If so, what do I need to bring and what should I look for? I know the website says to bring tie-downs. We will be pulling the trailer behind the bike too.

That looks like a really neat thing to do!!
They're mentioning tie-downs, because two-wheeled motorcycles WILL topple over during a rough passage...
While that's not going to affect you; follow their rules, and bring some along. It'll help keep the bike (and trailer!) in one place; if things get interesting out there!

Been there, done that

My wife and I did that a couple years ago. They drive the cars on for you, but cycles they have you drive them on. We were told to bring some tie downs, that's all. You park over a grated deck so its really easy with a Spyder.

Enjoy your trip. We love Manitowoc and Ludington.

tie downs

Yes bring tie downs to attach to the floor.
You will leave the trailer connected to the Spyder.
There can be some pitching of the ship so that is why the tie them down.
They will have you drive the Spyder on and then off the ship.

We have done it several times with our Gold Wing.

Note where the port hole is. Our buddy's HD was parked under one and was soaking wet when we got there. It was a stormy day.
I had my 1/2 cover on the wing and was dry.

We will be doing this later this riding season.
it is a great ride.
Ride safe

Thank You

Hey thanks for the info/advice. This old sea dog has crossed that Lake many times, but at the wheel of my own boat. First time the Admiral and I are taking the Badger and the first time we are cruising on the Spyder. This website has been very helpful in gaining understanding and knowledge of the bike.
All sails full and by.

Took the Spyder on the Badger last fall. Quite frankly, didn't tie it down at all. Just left the parking brake set and was fine. It's a lot of fun on a nice day.
