• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

trailering

Well The fiberglass rock catcher that is also the thing that catches one's eye is very weak and is supported by the spare tire. The paint chips off of this pretty easy. I was suppose to get some touch up paint with this but of course I didn't.

The Fiberglass wheel fenders are weak and low enough that you can scrap them on curbing.

There are several extra holes in the trailer bed that are placed there for a two place two wheel motorcycle trailer. I suppose these will start rusting very soon. A $5500 custom trailer should not have extra holes. You would think a quality product would at least have a blank put in these.

The supplied wiring harness from the battery had a bad crimp in in. Easy enough to fix once I found it. The trailer would not pump itself up without this connection

My trailer was damaged during shipment and it took upwards of two months to get it sort of fixed. I can show you where it was damaged. Once again for $5500 I would rather ding the trailer up myself.

I still haven't gotten all of the parts that I ordered but I have given up on getting them ever. I am missing the tilt up stands. I asked for my money back in lieu of getting them but that did not happen either.

When I received the trailer I had to assemble it. I also had to go buy about $30 worth of bolts, nuts, washers, to do this since they were not supplied.

I called the guys at AST every week for about three months over this. I never received a return call.

So go ahead and buy one. I am sure your experience will be better than mine. It would have to be.

One of my riding buds bought a standard 6' x 12' "landscaping" trailer but had the fold-down tailgate modified by the factory. He doubled its length but had hinges put in the middle so it double-folded up into movement mode. That provided an extremely long "ramp" on which you drive up to load.

That didn't cost much... a couple of hundred if I remember... and works well.

I built this one myself, it's a 6'x10'. I used 2"x 3"x 3/16" angle for the frame and crossmembers. The railing and uprights are 2"x 2"x 1/8". The deck is 2"x 6", and a #2000 lb axle/w 12" tires.
SpYdy fits perfectly on it.;)
