• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Trailer Packed , Mayberry here we come!

Mt. Airy to be exact , Headed out tonight after work from Upstate NY for a 5 day trip through pa, va, nc, tn, ky, oh. Should be about 1800 miles when said and done. Main destination after traveling south on the Blue Ridge Parkway is Mt. Airy (The true Mayberry RFD), birthplace of Andy Griffith, the town the series was based on and home of Goobers Service Station , Floyds Barber shop (really) and Andy's home he grew up in. Staying in Mt. Pilot (yup thats real too) for 2 of the 5 days and hope to take a couple day trips from there. Both Rt's have over 1200 miles on them . Carol's had one minor issue with a rear shock which was repaired at 200 milesand since then has been bullet-proof, My Black RTS was replaced by my dealer at the 500 mile mark after it developed every issue known to man, all minor but the repairs would have taken us into our trip and he stepped up to the pump and traded me even for a Demo RTS unit he had literally just put in service. Thus my anxiety with 7 days to go before the trip. Happy to say my current RTS has been through hell and back in the last week ,logging 1200 miles in hail , rain , highways , backroads , trailer towing and and has exhibited ZERO issues. We are ready to roll. It is AMAZING what you can fit in the 622 Trailer, but fully loaded is when you finally begin to realize the RT could use just a little more HP. :D

We did a "Mayberry Run" a few years ago. Got on the northern end of the Blue Ridge Parkway and ran down. NICE ride. Somewhere near Pilot Mountain, there's a really cool winery tour. BRP is a fun ride on any kind of bike.

I m AGHAST!

Widomaker?? Back on a SPYDER?? What happened to the Venture?

Glad to see you back. I m actually considering another one myself..the pearl white SE

Have a great trip! We hit Mt. Airy on the way down to TN last year - was pretty much my favorite place. I LOVED IT.

If every town could be like Mayberry!:2thumbs:

Day two, Thursday night update. 900 miles into our trip- Almost ten hours in the seat today on the Blue Ridge Parkway south into the Carolinas. Arrived at Pilot Mountain about 730 pm. Can report the RT's performed incredibly on arguably tough days for any bike. Stop and go Road construction , 90 Degree heat , 4000 foot elevation climbs (including a single lane road to Roanoke peak that I don't think was designed for a Spyder pulling a trailer :D . The final 2 hours we covered what I would call the most panoramic views and rolling countryside I have ever witnessed. The road was smooth , winding and can't imagine how it could have been better than what we experienced. (Oh and I swear to God I have NO idea the trailer is even back there anymore...spooky, its that smooth and quiet)
Friday is our "Mayberry" day, and Carol has informed me its a one Spyder day , she is taking over the queen seat for the day. Me thinks 2 days of ten hour back to back may be enough for her :agree: and one of the Spyders will have a restful day in the Bed and Breakfast parking lot. :2thumbs:

Where you going to be tomorrow? I may be able to hookup with you. :doorag:

We are going to be headed out of Mt. Airy , headed northwest towards Ohio- probably up through Wytheville... we were going to head down into Maggie Valley but time caught up with us :yikes:.... Are you going to be up this way?
