• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Towing a trailer other then the CanAm trailer

Yes it is possible, I pull to differnt trailers. I used some small connectors to clip on to the can-am wiring connector to get it to a normal six pin female connector. You need five (5) wires only, unless you want a back-up light. I am still looking for an out side source to buy the trailer side of the connector other than from BRP. (call me if you have a question 505-850-8483)

Google "Deutsch connector" and you can find the parts. You will need the connector, the individual pins, plugs for the unused holes, and possibly the special crimping tool.

What is the cost of the trailer wiring harness and where is the best place to get one?:dontknow:

I also have a trailer that I towed behind my gold wing and it has a flat four pin harness on it. I will gladly change out the harness witht the brp harness to make things simpler.

Thanks in advace

The 2010 Trailer Tongue Harness P/N 710002029 has an MSRP of $99.99. Available from any dealer or the Spyder online store. The 2011 Trailer Pole Harness P/N 710002442 serves the same function, but mmay be wired differently due to the lack of separate turn signals on the 2011 trailer. It also has a different connector and an MSRP of $115.99. Another alternative is to buy the Deutsch connector and pins separately from an online supplier.

I just purchased a teardrop trailer:2thumbs:, prototype for mass production. I'm pulling it with my Harley and maybe w/ the RT in the future. HD wants big bucks as well for the plug adapter:yikes:. I've already changed all the lights to function on each individual wire from the harness, besides I get more lights and am seen better.... I say :shemademe_smilie:do it yourself when you can....

NancysToy: elsewhere you mentioned an Aspen Sentry. ????

Questions, Questions, Questions,
1. Did you have to provide the adapter? Or did the vender have one?
2. I looked at their site but did not see any weight specs. Do you know the base weight?

SWMBO and I are planning on Wingding cuz several of the trailer folks are supposed to be there. Should be able to 'kick the tires' on a few different trailers b4 we make a final decision.

1. I had to make my own wiring adapter. I also changed their round, metal 6-pole connector to a plastic rectangular one to match another trailer. Separating the wiring to add an additional 4-pole connector this week, to tow with F-150/HHR.

2. They do not list the weight. I emailed them and I think they said 290# empty. That is without the spare. It is heavier than the Rt-622, but still allows about 100# of cargo with the Spyder. Of course a cooler and spare eat a lot of that up...but bedding and clothes weigh little.

The ease of setup, the queen-sized bed, and the screened room make this a real luxury on a trip. I think the weight is about the middle of similar units. Tows well with a Spyder, but it does eat some gas mileage.

Here's a pic of what we're pulling.
It's a Wags trailer, from Denver, Iowa.
Worked great behind the Dyna....seems to do good also behind the RT.

They make a "pet" model, and another cargo size bigger than ours.
