You could get better mileage out of a bigger engine if it produced power at lower RPM. That would lend itself more towards touring than our race bike motor.

What is really interesting is that how many peole that "interview" me about the Spyder can t believe that it is only $17 to $20K...

Price point for these folk are thinking much higher..say mid $20s .....

I've had two people come up to me and tell me they could never justify spending $45,000 on something like the Spyder. I just tell them that's good, since it only costs about $16,000.

For me it is all about foot position.
If it is the same as mine is now.
Look out Corbin here I come. And I will make a cruiser out of mine.
If they have changed the seat and feet to a much more comfortable setup, I may trade up.

Heard stories about a 700 to 800 cc with a CVT, and a tourer with anything from 1200 to 1800 cc. Seeing is believing, I can wait. If the big one has a tractor engine (gobs of torque) I might be interested.

I asked at Sturgis when went by there area. If the guy knew anything at all, he claimed they would not be doing any engine changes in the near future.

I agree they need to get the bugs worked out of the core product first. As we know there are a few bugs.

I also feel their untapped market is saddle queens wanting their own ride. If BRP would consider to every Harley Touring bike on the rode with two up there is a 25% chance that lady wants her own bike but is scared of the two wheeler, and has heard of the scare of trikes so she would consider the spyder if she ever had the chance to see it.

Yup-- but that isn't generally what Rotax is known for as far as I know.

i heared they (rotax) stopped the 1800er idea and brings a 1200er maybe (3pods?) - look at there webside..www.rotax.com
they need a much better fuel-consumption for the future
on the other side there is an article (french-written) which says that
BMW is planning a 800er (also rotax-engine) luxus-scooter which maybe comes also with 2 wheels on the front (MP3-System)
someone told me to stop to work further on my mods - cause next season i will sit on this new one..

I spoke to a BRP regional rep. a couple of months ago who said that NOBODY knows anything about the new bikes until they come out...that includes dealership owners, salespeople, BRP reps, etc...

Lamont's pic is about all that anyone will know.

BRP is very tight-lipped about everything and just as was the case with the Spyder, we ain't gonna know much until they unveil the changes in a month...until then, all this talk is hogwash (love that word, eh?) They're not going to leak out any information as only a few people in the company know what the new product is. As I've posted before, most of the R&D occurs at their facility in Florida and the reps don't have access to sensitive areas there where product development occurs.

On that note, who even said it'll have 3 wheels? :joke:

Anyone can speak with a BRP rep....and they ALL tote the standard line...

The new model has 3 wheels because the 2 wheel cruiser models they originally envisioned , designed and tested have been mothballed for a few years...,I would assume they will get the 3 wheel thing pretty much complete (GS , Touring and a smaller engine model) in place before anything further is done on that end but I could be wrong.... there's the nasty rumors again. :roflblack:
