• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

"Touring Cover"

Does anyone have experience using BRP outdoor cover for their Spyder, when you have added a taller windshield and hard bags? Based upon the snug fit depicted in the BRP brochure, it seems likely that the BRP product won't fit??

Any alternate covers being used?

thanks

My best Spyder accessory

If you have not found a cover yet, you might consider this: http://www.thebikebarn.net/smartbarn_model.html

The Bike Barn by PTI.

My Spyder lives outside, I do not have a garage. I also have one for my BMW F650GS. These make coming and going on the Spyder, or motorcycle, a breeze. There is no wrestling with a cover coming on and off, waiting for the bike to cool down, no cover rubbing dirt and dust on the paint, no problem covering or uncovering in the dark, storing the cover when not in use, easily accommodates all the modifications I have ever seen on a Spyder. It takes about 5 seconds to uncover or cover the Spyder. After having one, I would even buy one to use in a garage.

The Spyder requires the Trike size, fits it perfectly.

Downsides;
I wish they were cheaper, but in my case, really worth it.
Assembly is required, but if you take your time (around an hour), follow instructions, and don't consume alcoholic beverages when you do it, there should not be any problems. I did mine by myself, but an extra set of hands would have helped speed things up.

This is my favorite motorcycle/Spyder accessory, if you can call something that is indispensable an accessory.

We have the cover, bags, and CHAD windshield. We have not fit the cover with the bags, but it appears it would go. Worst case scenario would be to temporarily remove them and tuck them under or bring them inside. Cover fits fine over the CHAD, but only extends down past the trunk into the spoiler lip with the taller windshield. Plenty good, IMO. We used it this way for the weekend at Mid-OHIO, including through some bad rainstorms.

I just helped Nelson Rigg fit a cover for the Spyder today and it looked pretty cool. Give them a call they are good people.

I have a F1 taller screen 26" and the outside cover fit except it does not go all the way down the front anymore, half of the bumper shows and about 6" of both front wheels show now. I plan on getting a piece added to the top so it will go all the way down again.

BRP Spyder Cover

The answer to your question is yes. I the BRP outdoor cover for my SE5, and I have an F1 Slider windshield (the "shorter" one) installed. With the slider portion down, the cover will cover the entire bike nicely. If I leave the slider extended, the cover still fits, but leaves about 3-4" of the front wheels exposed, and the lower, black portion of the front end. The cover seems to do a pretty good job at keeping the weather at bay and the rain off. I think even if you had the "taller" F1 Slider, the cover would still be o.k.

I just went out and tried the oudoor cover with the CHAD and the BRP GIVI bags. Very tight fit, but it worked OK. With the CHAD all the way up (25" from the lowest part of the windshield dip on the console) and tilted about 1/3 upwards, the front of the cover extends enough to cover the lip below the trunk, but not the spoiler. Abput hald or better of the front wheels is covered. The rear comes just below the bottom of the fender. Hope this answers your questions.

thanks

for all the responses, and I will report back on how well the cover handles the CalSci large shield, and the Corbin bags (install is next week)

I'll post pix...cuz I know they are always appreciated.
