• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. Torque curve 2014 RT

Nice !!

it is impressive but guess you really have to have ryden both to get the real feel of it. Being an RS type the ryde would be a real switch on either one...

Based upon that graph; the 1330 makes more torque at EVERY spot along that curve, than the 998 does at it's peak... :2thumbs:
And it feel like it too! :D

After riding my new 14 LaMonster edition a thousand miles, I came west for group ryde and had to use a 2013 RT Limited. It took me twenty five miles to re-learn the old ways. Had a good ryde but am very glad I traded up!

The new torque curve should be more familiar with more people than a high-rev engine.

Personally, having driven/ridden all kinds of vehicles with various types of engine characteristics, the 900 series does not bother me; and never has.

However, as I said, most people are used to lower-torque, lower-rpm motors in most everything they drive... so it only makes sense that most would find the 1330 more "natural" to them.

Who knows... maybe I'll trade-up in a few years.

I am still riding two-wheels so I have to split my time between my new 2014 Ultra-Limited and the '11 RTS. I love both of them for what they are.

(However, I do get a kick out of who waves when riding one or the other... :roflblack: I'll wave at anyone, including farmers on their tractors. :))

For Bob Denman and any others who wish to add to my grief. My local (less than 2 miles from me) Yamaha dealer just got his BRP dealership about four months ago. He has been a dealer for years and I have known him a long time. He is a good one, service being his main strength....I have not ridden a '14 but he is leaning on me....He says I helped get him the dealership as I did send a nice letter to BRP telling them why we needed a dealer in this area, the state rep came to visit him and the rest is history. He is very happy with BRP and they with him. He has sold a number of scoots so all is well.

My problem....BR1 is running like a hose and my only problem was a new throttle body under warranty. I ordered it with the GPS, CB and XM radio. I fear my GPS would add little to my trade in price, the CB is kinda weak compared to Punkin's CB and I would move the XM radio to a new machine if I traded.

I have not talked trade and only have 14,000 miles on BR1. He has no problems and I kinda hate to spend the money. However, I know many of you are aware of my 75 YO wife landing a high paying job on the second shift at the local sawmill. I also told her to keep her day job stocking shelves at Wal Mart as we would need this extra money for a '14 RT Limited. The darlin' said she understood and would put in for overtime at the mill...what a lady...

Does anyone have an input on the '14 CB performance? The '11 was not to great...I have heard of folks changing out the antenna for better performance....I guess I could try that....should I move the CB to a '14 or get a "new" model? Thanks...

George,
I hate to be the one to tell you this...
But everything you love about BR1; you'll love even MORE about the 2014. :D
And the stuff that always needed improvement: they fixed!
...Except for the frunk release button! :gaah:

Bob, I was afraid you would say that...hey, even my frunk release works great....what to do, what to do....

:spyder2:
