• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

So I do my own maintenance most lay and I've (believe or not been using the tool kit mostly for things) what I would want to know so I can purchase is the must have tool set up to remove panels, do oil changes, change lights, possibly upgrade my handlebars... You name it.

What at do I need to purchase in your best opinion so I'm set up well working on the ole girl.

thanks so much

Torx bits
Metric allen set
Metric socket set
I use a small black &decker right angle cordless drill ti remove screws for panels

A 36mm wrench(I use a 1 and 7/16" wrench, Purchased at TSC) to remove rear wheel, 3/4" inch allen to remove rear brake shoe bolts. 13/16 I think for front wheel lug nuts. Assorted 1/4 and 3/8 inch sockets (metric) and extensions. I also use a 1/2 breaker bar when needed. I also use 1/4,3/8, and 1/2 torque wrenches. Assorted needle nose pliers and visegrips. Curse words, etc.....

I have a set of pliers made specifically for pulling the pins. I think I may have gotten them at Sears. Pin pliers or something like that. ..can't remember the exact name but they off set the tips at about a 30 degree angle or so and the ends on each tip somewhat resemble flat screw drivers. Really easy to pull the pins with those.

Your comment about the pliers intrigued me, I hate messing around with a flat tip trying to get the out. Did a bit of research and found that most folks are really proud of them. Harbor Freight has some that appear to be a decent price. http://www.harborfreight.com/push-pin-pliers-67400.html

Push pin pliers

New to working on spyder and have to ask, where are push pins used. Have good supply of tools, but never heard of this tool. Do not have manual as of yet:banghead:. THANK YOU ALL who reply.
Just joined several months ago and is my first post, or reply so if not proper form, my fault!

I use a cordless 20v Dewalt driver, with a right angle adapter for those tight spots. + all the torx bits, sockets and allen metric sockets to go along. Also get a set of metric racheting wrenches, the ones with open end on one side. Be careful not to use the T25 torx bit on the body panels. those take a T27 bit and most sets do not have one. Make sure you buy a set that comes with a T27 bit. You run the risk of stripping out a screw head with the wrong size bit.
