• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

To ride or not to ride

Silly question and I pretty much know how I'm leaning.

When Linda and I finished the Ural National Rally and parked the machines Saturday night the "Bug" had 6498 miles showing on the "clock" that's about 3300 since the oil and filter change I did before the Rolling Thunder trip. He now has the big filter and since DC has used about 6 ounces of oil.

The earliest the dealer can get me in for his 6500 mi checks is the 24th. Nothing unusual or strange going on and he's running fine. Question is how anal does one need to be with the mileage for these checks? I'm inclined to ride and just curious what others feel on the subject.

Ride and ride safe,

Ride of course. The :spyder2: will not self destruct if you put a few extra miles on between oil changes. Just make sure the oil level is correct.

Ride and ride safe,

Drive it!

Have to agree..!!

:agree: 4,600 miles so go for it. You could go more or less. The oils today can go longer...

My mechanic told me go ride and don't worry when I told him I am 350 miles over. Just make sure your oil is up to snuff.

Many thanks

You folks have pretty much confirmed my feelings. I usually check the oil after every other ride unless one ride stretches out a long way then it might happen 2 rides in a row. As I said he's not using much oil at all but will keep tabs on it until I get it to the dealer, I kinda want them to check the other items due at this point. Hopefully we'll be able to ride at least off and on this winter.

Thanks again, ride and ride safe,
