There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Tire pressure

Ihave been on Spyderllovers for sometime and you guys are great. I have a body that has a 2012 RT SE and has been trying different tire pressures. He is up to 20 PSI in the front tires and he states that it handles great. First, could this be true and what will this due to the tires and maybe even the warranty? I still am riding with manufactures suggestion. Thanks for your help.:banghead:

Per suggestions here on SpyderLovers I use 18 psi in the fronts and 28 psi in the rear tire. I took the spyder in for maintenance and they just said they "adjusted tire pressure" they didn't yell at me or anything.

The Spyder does seem to like a little more up front than the factory specifies. Try 18 front for an RT or 20 front for an RS, as a start. You may like more or less, but those seem to be the most common. 26-30 pounds in the rear works for both models, although some run other pressures.

:agree:
The only issue up front would be if you run a bit too high of a pressure and the front end starts feeling a bit too "jiggly" over road surface irregularities. It's just a comfort thing...

:agree: That's exactly how my GS acts when I go over 17 or 18 psi. I hate the feel of it.

Tire pressure cold or after riding

OK here is the dumb question, are you guys adjusting pressure cold or after riding?
I always adjust at cold, but have noticed these tires really go much higher after riding a while. Unlike a car they will raise as much as 10 PSI. Example this past August I checked the tires at cold 15 PSI front, and 28 PSI rear. I rode about 30 miles ambient temp was about 70°F. I stopped and checked tire pressure again they were at 25 PSI front, and near 39 PSI rear.
I also noticed on hot days as the temps were going up around 90°F the front would get quite rough, even bounce as they hit a bump in the road. This may be why BRP wants you to set 15 front, and 28 rear???

All tire pressures are specied as cold pressures, and should be checked that way. A racer may adjust tire pressures between runs, to match track and temperature conditions, but it is neither practical nor necessary for everyday riding/driving.

jiggle

I like running 14-16 notice it's so much smoother, and when I run 17 or more I get a slight jiggle in the front around 40. Got 11 k miles on mine this week.

I'm pretty sure that BRP has suggested these seemingly low pressures for ride comfort. If the sidewalls can soak up some of the roadsurface "issues"; it goes a long way towards keeping the buying public comfy and in the mood to buy.
The handling shortcomings crop up only after some miles have been logged...
