• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Third break light, yes or no

after seeing the over $200.00 price tag , i think i'll pass for the moment.
i know its for safety but its still brighter than a car.--irv

I have the Custom Dynamics High mount brake/run/turn. My dealer sells and installs these. it fits right in that spot nice looking light and a little chrome on top.

+1

Custom Dynamics High Mount on both my 2012 and 2014 RT - absolute yes for safety.

Hi Matahead,

Re: I installed one one our GS & ST, both above the license plate.

I was going to install one just below the license plate on my '08 GS but decided I wanted it higher. So installed just below the factory tail-lites.

Spyder 3rd T-Lite.jpg

Last year I installed the 'Magic something' that makes my brakes lights flash. This 3rd tail-lite is wired into the existing ones so that it is a running & brake lite & it flashes along with the factory tail-lites.

This 3rd lite is about 1/2" x 6", LED & I got it from Value Accessories.

New owner of 2016 RTS. Here's my question, do I add a third break light to the top of my trunk? I really think it would be a great safety option, but I hear so many stories of failures, electrical gremlins, limp mode etc. I saw a video from Shawn Smoak, a Can Am mechanic, and my own local Can Am service tech, tells me not to do it, because of the issues he has seen with third break lights, led American flags, and led add ons in general. I would assume that a lot of the failures are caused by cheap products or cutting into the wiring harness but I have also heard of issues with top tier products. They say the Nanny is very sensitive. I have a Tricled dealer close by and believe they would use quality products. I plan on taking some longer trips and don't want to get stranded because of an aftermarket add on. Advice please.

I also installed a Custom Dynamics brake/run/directional light over three years ago. It is operating fine with no problems.

Definitely Yes

I also have a 2016 RTS. Pulling a trailer you can barely see anything. When not trailering, I really believe it helps others see you faster. I added a $5 flasher from EBAY in series with the brake wire so the LED's have a quick pulse to them. I also added the LED kit from Spyderpops for the brakes - pulses when braking, extra LEDs flashing. Simple install on all things.

You can drive defensively as much as you can, being seen adds a lot more safety for those idiots on their cell phones :yikes:

Was chrome...

Fatcycledaddy, is that chrome or is it black finish ? I'm looking for options for my blacked out RTS ......

Blacked out everything on my Intense Red / Black rim 2016 RTS, so taped off the red and plastidipped the chrome with about 6-7 heavy layers. Holding up great!

YES YES YES a thousand times YES

YES ! Call me I have them in stock :yes::yes::yes::yes:

:agree: +1 on the Show Chrome HMT brake/turn light combo (PN 41-172). Though mine is in addition to TricLED's Ultimate safety combo plus mirror lights. Did the HMT myself, exactly according to included instructions. I'm lit UP!
