There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. Third break light, yes or no

I added two led brake lights to my 2010rt and have them on my 2015rt with no problems. I bought then from AutoZone. Light it up.

I have the Custom Dynamic third brake light. It is an easy install and is very bright! Over 3 years no issue. Very visible and looks oem !
Same here. I ordered mine with the Spyder when it was new and my dealer installed it. They also installed the Signal Dynamics Wig-Wag modulator on the OEM brake lights I also have the TricLED Daytime Running Lights on the top A-frame bars. Never any problems with any of these mods. ALL of these additions make you more visible and help prevent cages from running into you. IMO, anything you can do to help avoid that is well worth it.

I will also jump on the bandwagon here. Have had the Custom Dynamics brake light on all three RT's, the 2010, 2011, and the 2014. These were dealer installed and I drove off the lot with them added when purchased.

No problems with any of the three lights. The 2011 and 2014 are still in service and the lights are still trouble free.

I also had the Tricled 3rd & 4th BRAKE lights installed along with the Custom Dynamics trunk mounted module. All is well, no problems.

A IMHO the third brake light is the most important add on you can install. IT'S A SAFETY ISSUE that BRP should have installed at the assembly plant in the first place.. I installed one on my 2012 RT and before I traded it in on my 2016 RTL I removed it and installed it on my 2016. I bought it from Custom Dynamics that came with detailed instructions and was easy to install. I also installed one on my brothers 2013 with no issues. It doesn't where you buy it just do it.
BTW my brother or I have never had a problem installing or the performance of the third brake light.

Is the HMT hooked-up to be just a brakelight, or did you also get the converter, and have it being used as a running light, and turnsignals as well? :dontknow:

I agree, just add them. You will hear more "bad" stuff than good stuff on any forum..
I added the HMT and he 3rd & 4th brake lights along with the modulator that strobes my HMT for 8 seconds and goes solid.
I am a firm believer that you need to be seen, especially from the rear. (No such thing as too many lights!)
It might just be me but once the vehicle behind me sees the brake lights they tend to stay further back.

Thanks!
I've been debating with myself over the installation.
I'm now leaning toward using my other rear lights in the dual capacity, and just have the HMT come on for braking. I figure that it'll make it more visible! :D

Yeah, the ass end really lights up when you hit the brakes. If anybody can't see yeah, they are driving blind or distracted. I have the 3rd & 4th LEDS that are running lights and get brighter when you apply the brakes, but decided not to have the HMT as running lights.

You're right: the TricLEDs light do double-duty!
If somebody hits me from the rear : their seeing eye dog had better be blind also! nojoke

Dealer installed mine as a running light and brake light. Very bright and really bright as a brake light. Best money I have spent. I have it on my GW too.

I have my 2015 RTL lit all of the way around with the Bumperskid with LEDs in the front and the RT BRT Rear Lighting Kit for the 3rd brake light in the back and it also lights up for the rear turn signals and the American Flag. I got them from SPYDERPOPS. Harvey from SPYDERPOPS is great to work with.

Custom Dynamics. ... only issue I had was a loose wire in thier connector. I fixed it and now no problems.

I like it as it gets the brake light closer to driver eye level so they have something right in their face when I am stopping.

High Mount Brake light

The missus followed me home in the rain when we bought our spyder. She said she could hardly see the rear lights. So the first thing we did was order and install a Custom Dynamics high mount brake light. The model we choose for our 2015 RT-S was the run/brake model. Has been a great addition NO problems what so ever and people really comment that have no problem seeing us from the rear.

Bob the best one is the run brake and turn
It has amber on either side for that

I have both the high mount light and a police light installed by Joe and Ann Meyer. Both work great, no issues and I can be seen. I believe that the video that Shawn did the person was using inexpensive light that were not installed correctly.

Just think about how the center high brake light on all cars/trucks helps you see that they are braking. This is what this does for the bike. It's a no-brainier. Then with the CD unit the modulator, makes all of them flash, I don't worry about the guy behind me going blind as a result of my light flashing, I just want him to know something is stopping in front of him.
