• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

wife offered to buy a go pro 3+ before we take the bike on a cruise in may! anybody have it mounted on an rs or rss that can give us some suggestions as to where and how to mount. suction cup looks to be an option. :dontknow: I want to be able to put it on and take it off easily! especially on the islands!

If you use any mount other than one that clamps one (suction cup or glue on) be sure to connect a lanyard to it, in case the mount pops off!

I haven't tried mine on my RSS yet but I have on my Yamaha FZS Waverunner. I use the suction cup mount with a lanyard. I've thrown it around, ran 70mph and never had it come loose. Far as where to mount that's up to you. Try it in different places for different shots. Wish I had mine mounted facing rearward the day my wife flew off the back of the Waverunner.
One more thing go for broke and buy the Black edition, comes with a remote.

that was our thought. the remote is better than having to use the phone or a tablet.

We just got a GoPro Hero 3+ for my wife's 2013 RT Limited and have the same question. Thinking about getting the same as I use on my Gold Wing. Below is a picture of my first GoPro (3 cameras ago) mounted using the mount.

Definitely get the remote.

I've used mine on my track car and on my mini bike, but hasn't made it to the Spyder yet...keep forgetting. :(

I have not found a place to mount it with the suction cup that does not cause unusable vibration in the footage. The best result was on the windshield, but the head light would be another place that might not be too bad for the suction cup. Otherwise, the best place period is a helmet mount.
When it warms up, I am going to mount a couple stick mounts to the A arms, and low on the intake.

All that tupperware vibrates like crazy on my RT.

Maybe the RS will be better.

When I had my Go Pro I mounted it on top of my helmet, and it allowed me to film what I was looking at. Only problem I had was when I lifted my visor up it could be seen, but never had any vibration problems.

Does it come with a helmet mount, if not, where did you get the mount from?

It will come with sticky mounts. Only thing I don't like about mounting it on my helmet it is it sticks out like half Micky Mouse ear. Far as helmet mounted camera I use my Countour HD,tucks in close. Only thing with the Countour is the audio sucks anything above 20mph but it does shoot better video then the GoPro.

I have a RT ltd and mounted mine on a flat sticky mount just below the windshield with a lanyard. It was an awesome shot and very stable. I think that you would get a lot of vibration from the windshield . It is very easy to take off, just remove the screw and leave the sticky base . You can find a lot of misc mounts and hardware on Amazon or Ebay.

Chuck, I got a drifter a while back, but still have not used it yet. Guess I will have to figure it out before the cruise as well.

I didn't unless it came with one. Never opened it. Just opened it and it has some kind of mount with a strap. I will check it out tomorrow.

Yes, it came with a flat and curved sticky mount, as other mentioned. :agree: the mount does look out of place when no camera is mounted. Would be really nice if it came with a bracket that allowed removal when not in use.

I bot mine tru dhgates http://www.dhgate.com/ under: SPORT CAMERAS.... $79, and it's as good as anything i've seen from others... they now have this unit with a 'remote'.... I drilled a hole thru one of the mounts provided, and used the screw in the tupperware to secure it.... works gr8.... :2thumbs:

Wow...that dhgate has quite a few different inexpensive ones. At those prices, I have to wonder about the quality and longevity.

On the other hand, I really hate over paying just for a name...
