• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

thinking about purchasing the go pro hero 3+ before the spyder goes criusing!

I used one of the stock sticky backed curved mounts and put it one the left hand mirror. I let it sit overnight and have had no problems. I do not take movies so any shake does hurt. I also keep it anchored with a safety cable. Go Pro is a great piece of equipment !

I just bought the Garmin Virb. I took a few short videos from the truck through the windsheild and it looks pretty good. I put a mount on snowmobile helmet and on the left side of the sled near the winshield and will get to try them both next week. I also plan on putting a mount on the upper A arm of my Spyder.
I dont think the video of the Virb is quite as good as the Hero 3+ but it is not bad either. I did notice there is a lot less "bending" at the edges of the screen with the Virb.

Wow...that dhgate has quite a few different inexpensive ones. At those prices, I have to wonder about the quality and longevity.

On the other hand, I really hate over paying just for a name...

i've had my NO NAME camera for over 2 yrs now, and it has never failed me once...
 works perfect every time i've used it....

i turned in on while on Rt. 12 in Utah, and it ran for over 2 hrs. while riding in the freezing rain, 9600 ft. elevation, stop n go, etc etc etc... the only thing i'd like now, is this camera with the 'remote'... i'd velcro the remote to my handbar and switch it on n off at will...

I have a sticky mount in center of top of dash , used suction cup on windshield (center) and on wind deflector , none have any issues of vibration. I have the extended battery , so I can use the power supply I installed for my battery tender(it came with a USB plug adaptor . That way I do not need to worry about running the camera battery down, also charges it. I use a tether for all three locations .

Thanks for the info. I will check this out as we are looking for a video cam. I have to say that I would not want to look at your garage door after  To many of these

I have a cheap camera that I bought on WOOT. Use this clamp and shoot right through the windshield. Good video but poor audio.
