• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

The worst part of this beautiful Easter Sunday...

... is that I had to drop off my Spyder at the dealer yesterday for the 6K service. :gaah::gaah::gaah:

No idea when she'll be ready (yeah, I'm the guy with that kind of dealer, if you recall). I'll call Monday, hopefully they'll have an estimate, but I figure if I'm lucky I'll have it back before next weekend, if unlucky it'll be after that. Dang spring backload...

Oh, I found it interesting that I told my tech that I wanted the exhaust gaskets replaced, gave him a pair of the Honda gaskets, and he looked at me funny. I spent another five minutes explaining how lousy the stock gaskets were, how much heat and now popping I'm getting, and he was still dumbfounded ("Bike doesn't *sound* like the gaskets are bad..."). Yeah, well, okay, I've got the magical mystery machine then, I'm paying you $90 an hour for labor, swap 'em out for me please! :banghead:

Anyway... next year, I'm totally getting the service done in cold March, not in spring April.

I too dropped mine off for 6k service yesterday. But only because it's PASSOVER and it's going to rain next week.

Hummm. I am starting to feel really lucky with my dealer in Hanover, PA. I just got mine done as well. I set the appointment up about 3 weeks ahead of time. Road up there and waited for the service. Took about 3 hrs or so, but spent my time with a nice Spyder RT owner chatting . Not to mention it is a beatiful ride up in that area. Don't let it get you down. You'll be ryding soon !! :2thumbs:

Makes me really happy to have my dealer - Jacksonville Powersports. They told my 2011 RT would take 3 hours (1 hour to cool off) so I put it in the trailer to save that wait and was in and out in less than 1 1/2 hrs. Work included oil change, plug change, full inspection and a test ride.

I do plan to leave it overnight for the 12K service ... I'm not gloating, just happy to have a good dealer nearby.

Ahhh

This makes me feel a bit better knowing I'm not the only guy with the bike at the dealer jonesing to ride!!!

My dealer has me wait for the machine. Three to four hours. Spend the time looking around and chat with potential customers and wait for the lunch wagon. It must be the area laid back.

I am getting my 3K at Cowtown duirng Spyderfest. I usually trailer to my dealer and leave it overnight. Dealer is 90 minutes away and by the time I get home I can just get it there by the time they close. So it is easier to leave it. So far so good.

Worst part for us was looking out the window and watching the beautiful winter wonderland we had from the 3 inches of snow we received on Saturday. We broke the all time Anchorage area record now. The three inches has now melted off--so maybe one of these afternoons???
