• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

The ignorance of some people…

When someone says "Get a real bike" as they drive their car, it means they either do not have a bike to ride, or its a garage queen.

I just tell them I don't submit to peer pressure and chose to be different.

Over the years I've owned Bultaco's, Rokon's, Honda's, BMW's, Kawasaki's, Harley's and now a Can Am. I personally don't give a crap what anyone else thinks. Today I deleted my list of Harley web links. Saturday I rode with a group that had Harley's (one was a trike), Honda's, BMW's and a Victory. No one had any negative comments about my RT. I bought the RT because it was what I wanted, you don't like it well ask me if I care.:yes:

Harley, harley, Harley, everybody's got a Harley, except those who DARE to be different.

Maybe they just need a hug. NAHHH

I am not a psychiatrist nor do I play one on TV. However, I am an observer and a student of the human condition. It is my opinion that these comments are the mindless ramblings of insecure and jealous individuals. Sadly they feel that they have no recourse but to attack your choice of a riding platform in their pathetic attempt to disguise or deny their own inability to adjust to a paradigm shift in the choices we now have in recreational riding vehicles. It is painfully apparent that they are stuck in the past and that they have no vision of the future.

Do not despair. Let the naysayers say what they will. Their time will come when they might have to make the decision if they want sit on the porch and watch the riders go by or get a "tricycle" and continue to ride. I suffered from that condition. I have been riding two wheelers since 1966 (1966 Honda Super 90). This past summer my FJR1300 sat in the garage in New York. Due to some medical issues I can no longer push it around the garage with confidence. I was pretty bummed out. When we got to Florida for the winter I had an epiphany. I rode a friend's 2013 RT Ltd. Two days later I bought a 2015 RT.

Ride what You like
Like what You ride

Awwww Hell...

If they pick on you for what you ride; look them right in the eye, and tell them:

Amen Brother! I was moving my HD Street Glide Ultra around in my garage, it started to tip over on me and I killed my back catching it. Besides that try to back up one of those in a parking lot when you need to go backwards up hill. RT push the "R" button and life is good. I'm old but I'm not stupid.

i have not really had a negative comment on mine either, except my nephew just messing with me. I can guarantee you one thing, NOT a single person who makes those comments have ever ridden a spyder which i am pretty sure by definition makes them ignorant. Is it the same as riding on 2 wheels? nope, is it as fun as 2 wheels? maybe not, its debatable, i just think its a different fun. What is not debatable is that the spyder gives you the freedom and get away like being on 2 wheels and is WAY safer. I bought the spyder not because of age but because i had a big heavy cruiser that was like guiding a tank around sharp corners and parking lots, especially for a smaller guy. This was a much safer bike to take my wife and daughter on period, not debatable. I still have a yamaha for when i feel like riding the canyons alone, otherwise its the spyder.

Like the other post said, its not what you ride, only that you ride!

We only had one incident on the road. That was early this summer we were in some traffic a pick up with a trailer with dirt bikes on the trailer comes by in the left lane and yelled something? The 2 men on the right side of the truck had there heads out the window and had there thumbs down. I don't know what they said we were both streaming music and did not hear it. When we got past the heavy traffic I passed them back and kept going.

The only other incidents is at work and none of the individuals that were making fun of me even own a bike of any type. I just ask how many miles they rode so far this year. HMM, I never get an answer.

I haven't gotten any negative comments, but I do notice I get a lot less waves from bikes going the other direction. That's ok, I just keep on rollin':2thumbs:

Harley, harley, Harley, everybody's got a Harley, except those who DARE to be different. No negative comments and I ride with Harleys, Honda's, Kawasakis, custom trikes. We respect each other's ride.
I ride anything on 2 wheels,,,,and 3 wheels;)

Some people need to get a life instead of attacking people enjoying theirs. That said the vast majority of people that displayed anything towards our Spyder was always positive.
I guess there is always going to be a little negative. I can live with that.

Negative to positive

Had an incident one time going into the dragon. Sitting there smoking a a couple young riders came up and started kidding me about riding a wheelchair thru the dragon. Didn't say much except to say see you at the other end and took off. They were right behind me for a bit but not for long . Got to the other end and had a cigar lit when they got there . They rode right up to me and the one said " gotta hand it to you pops , that wheelchair outrode us " and then both put out for a handshake. Guess there's always not a negative when you see what's going on .
