• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. It will be a little hard for lamont this time Ron don't have a parts bike:joke:

I have been considering that angle. I'm losing my parts bike position but I'm not sure what that really means.

If I were an insecure person I would be up in the air. But it looks like enough stuff is still interchangable that Lamont will still look forward to seeing the UPS man drive up!

Where do you think Lamont is going to stash the RTS . . . .

. . . . when BRP comes looking for it?

It was my impression that the UPS man eats lunch and dinner at Lamont's. For desert, they rummage through the deliveries looking for parts shipments. Motorcycle-car-ATV-Spyder-boat parts, computers, electronics, tires . . . . it is all good!

You see I never saw it as an us against them kind of thing.

I always thought it was something that was good for both companies? But maybe you have a point I had not thought of?

I just thought after all the years in powersports BRP (who I know does this with sleds and watercraft) would see the value in the excitement aftermarket parts allow owners to have as they make their Spyder "their own" with the custom things they can do to it. To, (like they do with sleds and watercraft) let one of the aftermarket companies get a look at one of these a bit early.

Just like HD has seen for years (just look at the size of their custom parts catalog) people love to change/ mod/ customize their rides.

I just always thought we were all wanting the same thing for the Spyder? For people to love, ride and "make their Spyder their own" while being safe and having fun doing it?

So, looks like we'll drop another 30K by the time we get our RT with the trailer, and bring up the total to 100K spent with BRP in less than 2 years.

But good customers like this grow on trees so why would it matter to BRP who we are, or what we do with the Spyder market.

You know, the more I think about I guess I am bitter. :yikes:

MM

I understand how you feel. Putting myself in your shoes, I'd feel like that too but I really think there is a reason for everything - not sure what but I do have my opinions on it but really - there is a reason for everything and in the end things always work out the way they are supposed to work out.

Magic Man I understand your bitterness, I'd take this as a compliment to your products. I'm of the opinion that they are jealous of maketshare of accesories, and think they need a piece of it. They are King in their opinion. That my $.02
P.S. I'd be very bitter also in your shoes also.

P.S. #2 NMN ROCKS and KEEP ON ROCKIN"

:agree:I think he makes good products and BRP has to compete w/ that. Just like you said - it's all right here in your words - "BRP NEEDS A PIECE OF IT" - that answers everything right there. So yep, consider it a compliment that you didn't get one.

i would be to if i were you .... years back converse shoe came into my shop said we have this great opportunity for you ,,,,we are running this ad campaign called tattoo your shoe ...take chuck tailors a box of markers and package them together .... we were very excited about this they promised us tv ads magazine shots the whole thing... we worked on designs for 2 months.... at the end we found out that a bunch of ad guys took shoes home and never even ran them by converse executives .... different senerio but there was a big business wasted 2 months worth of design work with false promises .... and all though they didnt promise you one... they should have seen potential in the future of after market spyder products .... and if it weren't for some of your products (handle bar risers for 1) i think a lot of people would have realized how uncomfortable a long ride is on a stock spyder.... and i'm sure I speak for all of us with your products we appreciate your work....:2thumbs:

I couldn't :agree: more !!!

Evan:
We really appreciate your support and your products are top flight.

I do believe things have a way of working out for the best although right now that may be hard to see.

But if you ride as a test couple is Brian going to be happy riding B*tch? :roflblack::roflblack:

Maybe around town if I HAVE TO but not all the way to Lamonster's garage. If me riding on the back for hundreds or thousands of miles was the deciding factor for dltang to get an RT for testing, she would be stuck riding her 2008. :D

Tom, I love your posts, you make me smile all the time and like now, you make me laugh out loud. Thanks for your contributions here.:2thumbs:

...and how taking it up the butt from some rental company in LA would that have made it better? Was it not enough I spent all the money to send 3 NMN people out there with airfare, payroll, meals, hotels, rental cars to support the event?

This is a real sore topic for me after seeing the list of who is getting one. All I can say is... unless you want to open up a whole can of whoop as$ don't go there.

Only making more Spyder items than anybody else in the world now does to help Spyder owners enjoy or even in some cases even buy one (do you know how many dealers have told us that they only made the sale AFTER someone tried a Spyder with risers, as they weren't going to buy one because of the too low hand position) If BRP can't see the value in getting me one early than oh well.(and yes we do make a profit selling these items, it's how I feed my family thank you)

That and not to mention in the last 14 months we have spent over $70k on BRP products! Here's the short list, SE5 Spyder, SM5 Spyder , 2008 RXT-X Sea-doo, a 2009 RXT-IS Sea Doo, a 2009 GTX-IS Sea-Doo and another 2009 RXT-X Sea Doo not to mention all the past years BRP products! Why if you cut me I bleed BRP yellow! So, I also think I fall into the "great customer" box too. But, it is what it is, so we'll just wait till ours comes in months from now to get started. :dontknow:

Bitter, I'm not bitter? Well maybe just a bit. LOL :D

MM

Oh quit whinin. You'll prolly still have your stuff out before them. I'm sure they're lookin out for #1 and they're dealers are pushin for it too. As far as the 100 grand you've spent on BRP, is it all for personal use, or was it bought for the company to work from?

Yea, like we use Sea-Doos everyday to make motorcycle parts.

MM

Excuse me. I thought maybe you had aftermarket stuff for them too.
Maybe I should be on their list too, I have bought a lot of snowmobiles:2thumbs:

Every Manufacturor does that, Ford, GM, Honda (motorcycles and cars), Toyota. Why not? It makes sense, to have parts that cross over from one vehicle to another. It saves in production costs and increases profits. You would do it as well, and I hope you do and can with all the parts you put out.

Unfortunantly I hope you know that there are no lights whatsoever on Personal Watercraft? That it is illeagal to operate them at night in all 50 States. So no these have never been for work.

All the money I have spent with BRP since 1989 on the over 20 PWC and 15 Ski-Doos all these years has just been because I am a great BRP customer and supporter

It is only the 2 Spyders (that when were first bought were at that time only personal items) did I start making items I wanted for my Spyder becauase nobody else had what I wanted, Then for the first time in all these years did any BRP items ever get used for work at all.

Truth is only very rarely. The new Sea-Doos IS's only have 18 hours total on one a 6 on the other and the RXT-X has only 4 but it's for Jody to race (which is only about 3 time a year)

I am a guy who loves powersports with all my heart, and somehow (as strange as it may sound) I like ownng these things even if I can only use them once in a while. To me having them, cleaning them, tinkering on them is as much fun as getting to drive them sometimes.
