1st Congrats to all 5.
Maybe if you rented a :spyder:in LA instead of a Harley you would have been 1 of the lucky five :joke:

...and how taking it up the butt from some rental company in LA would that have made it better? Was it not enough I spent all the money to send 3 NMN people out there with airfare, payroll, meals, hotels, rental cars to support the event?

This is a real sore topic for me after seeing the list of who is getting one. All I can say is... unless you want to open up a whole can of whoop as$ don't go there.

Only making more Spyder items than anybody else in the world now does to help Spyder owners enjoy or even in some cases even buy one (do you know how many dealers have told us that they only made the sale AFTER someone tried a Spyder with risers, as they weren't going to buy one because of the too low hand position) If BRP can't see the value in getting me one early than oh well.(and yes we do make a profit selling these items, it's how I feed my family thank you)

That and not to mention in the last 14 months we have spent over $70k on BRP products! Here's the short list, SE5 Spyder, SM5 Spyder , 2008 RXT-X Sea-doo, a 2009 RXT-IS Sea Doo, a 2009 GTX-IS Sea-Doo and another 2009 RXT-X Sea Doo not to mention all the past years BRP products! Why if you cut me I bleed BRP yellow! So, I also think I fall into the "great customer" box too. But, it is what it is, so we'll just wait till ours comes in months from now to get started. :dontknow:

Bitter, I'm not bitter? Well maybe just a bit. LOL :D

I would have to agree, you guys should have gotten one. Its the aftermarket products that keep us tinkering with these things. BRP should know this. I have seen a few companies offering anyone exhausts/upgrades/stuff if they sent thier new quad to them so they had one to use for R&D of parts. BRP should have jumped on the chance to get one out to you so you could get a head start.
Just my 02 cents though

czdaryle,
I am sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong but I think this may be your answer. I believe Daniel runs an active forum in Quebec. As the company resides in Quebec and there are an awful lot of spyders there, that definitely makes perfect sense. Ken has been riding his spyder since the beginning and has had a relationship with BRP as an active spyder rider and forum member. He came from CA to Gatlinburg last year. He participates in at least 3 different spyder forums that I know of and his regional club "West Coast Spyders" is one of the largest active clubs that I know of. I hope that answers your questions about why those "other" guys.

thanks...that answers that:thumbup:

Maybe BRP is just jealous of you because your accessories, etc. are WAY better than theirs! :D

You see I never saw it as an us against them kind of thing.

I always thought it was something that was good for both companies? But maybe you have a point I had not thought of?

I just thought after all the years in powersports BRP (who I know does this with sleds and watercraft) would see the value in the excitement aftermarket parts allow owners to have as they make their Spyder "their own" with the custom things they can do to it. To, (like they do with sleds and watercraft) let one of the aftermarket companies get a look at one of these a bit early.

Just like HD has seen for years (just look at the size of their custom parts catalog) people love to change/ mod/ customize their rides.

I just always thought we were all wanting the same thing for the Spyder? For people to love, ride and "make their Spyder their own" while being safe and having fun doing it?

So, looks like we'll drop another 30K by the time we get our RT with the trailer, and bring up the total to 100K spent with BRP in less than 2 years.

But good customers like this grow on trees so why would it matter to BRP who we are, or what we do with the Spyder market.

You know, the more I think about I guess I am bitter. :yikes:

:firstplace: Thats ok Magic Man - we of Spyderlovers.com will CONTINUE to support your company. By the way, bring some lights with you to Bikes Blues and BBQ. Specifically: Fender tips, Mudflaps, Front and Rear turn signals, and do I need Triple Play to make these all work? Maybe more if my wallet can handle it. Thanks for being YOU!:clap:

i would be to if i were you .... years back converse shoe came into my shop said we have this great opportunity for you ,,,,we are running this ad campaign called tattoo your shoe ...take chuck tailors a box of markers and package them together .... we were very excited about this they promised us tv ads magazine shots the whole thing... we worked on designs for 2 months.... at the end we found out that a bunch of ad guys took shoes home and never even ran them by converse executives .... different senerio but there was a big business wasted 2 months worth of design work with false promises .... and all though they didnt promise you one... they should have seen potential in the future of after market spyder products .... and if it weren't for some of your products (handle bar risers for 1) i think a lot of people would have realized how uncomfortable a long ride is on a stock spyder.... and i'm sure I speak for all of us with your products we appreciate your work....:2thumbs:

Magic Man I understand your bitterness, I'd take this as a compliment to your products. I'm of the opinion that they are jealous of maketshare of accesories, and think they need a piece of it. They are King in their opinion. That my $.02
P.S. I'd be very bitter also in your shoes also.

P.S. #2 NMN ROCKS and KEEP ON ROCKIN"

Well,

Here is my perspective. BRP is lending new spyder for well-known individuals in the spyder community to test and review not to grow their own business. Same goes for Corbin!

That's just my $0.02. But hey, I do understand your frustration outside of the business motives given your loyalty to BRP and the amount of money you spent on their products.

I would not be able to do my long distance riding, if it were not for all the aftermarket stuff installed on my Spyder, including many things from NMN.

For many years Harley had an uneasy relationship with the aftermarket suppliers of mods for its bikes. Over the years Harley became more and more a competitor of the aftermarket. At this time, BRP is highly dependent upon the aftermarket to do what it cannot do for itself. The aftermarket makes the Spyder a much more attractive product.

I was only kidding about the H-D part I would of done the same I remember the prices you were given for the rental of the :spyder:Ouch

Well I hope BRP was particular about who they decided on --- we all know Lamont was a given and will give it one hell of a ride and a review that will carry a lot of weight (we'll hear the good as well as the bad--- if there is any bad)---- I just hope the others are 'real' Spyder riders--- not just people BRP picked because they will give good marketing coverage.

So I hope all 5 ride the hell outta them and give honest reviews.

As far as the NMN risers--- I have been at dealers when someone was talking to a salesperson about buying a Spyder---- didn't take long for me to enter into the conversation:doorag:---- and they were 'pretty sure' they wanted one.

Then we go outside and I have the guy sit on mine with the Corbin seat, NMN risers and CHAD-- and they instantly feel MUCH more comfortable. I explain to them that I think the Spyder is a GREAT bike off the floor--- but if you really want comfort---- you're going to want some of these extras--- especially the risers. I really believe that I helped sell a few Spyders this way.

Without all of these aftermarket products making the Spyder easier to ride for longer distances--- the RT would not have become what it is today!

Now about the PE----- hmmmmm

Is it going to be call the PE/RT or PERT ???:D

are they all "single-drivers" or is there hopefully one passenger with them ??
need a knee-statement for my wife .. would help for the change-order

BRP is doomed, RESISTANCE IS FUTILE!

I would just like to add a few more reasons why I would make a good number 6. Let's see, how about at least one female test rider, hmmm? Also, both Brian and I own and ride a spyder so we could be a test couple, two for the price of one kind of thing. We both have high mileage and have been to Valcourt, Gatlinburg and LA. BRP are you watching!!!! :2thumbs:

In the end, there can only be 6!

I see Deb has started her engines.
I will make a prediction that she will be the first woman RTS evaluator.
Not only is she qualified, but she has a force of willpower that is unrelenting and irresistible.
She knows how to make things happen. This will happen.

Deb, let me be the first to congratulate you.

Enjoy your RTS ride to the BBQ.

Oh, and please continue to use your power for good.

Tom

Tom,
Thanks for the vote of confidence but I am not holding my breath. I would love to give it a test run but I believe they have picked 5 very capable folks. I will be at the BBQ though even if it is on my 2008 spyder. She is holding up well and I love her.

But if you ride as a test couple is Brian going to be happy riding B*tch? :roflblack::roflblack:

You, know, he may not like it a whole lot but he has ridden on the back before and I'm sure he would do it again. Especially with the new seat and stereo set up. He loves to enjoy the scenery and just relax. As long as his legs are comfortable, that would be key. I do have a hunch though, that we would have to trade on and off. Of course, he does still have his own spyder. LOL:ohyea:
