• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Project S will be a new model Spyder under $10,000. Due out fall of next year...

Wouldn't that make it a 2019. The 2018 reveal is so lacking they are promoting a 2019 model that has no pics and no specs. Seriously..............

Wonder if it will be a two-wheeler. They are gonna have to do some serious cutting to get down to under $10,000.... :roflblack:

As I said yesterday not much would change and still has all the same problems. Vibrating belt, bad tires ECT. Not impressed with brp.

Cluster gizmo (for all except F3/F3-S) etc looks brilliant - people asked for these mod-cons, and here they are.

Project S - to be launched Sept 2018 - under USD $10,000, using Spark - capacity not stated. Well, we (some of us anyway) asked for an Entry Model - and here it comes.

We will ALL win with Project S - higher sales numbers and market penetration means the dealer network should also expand ... Win-Win

I for one will fully support Project S and will be curious to see where it goes.

This is exactly what was the right thing to do. Did you read Lamonts write up. He nailed it. They have a beautiful looking machine, and they just made it more useful and attractive to the rider. :yes::yes::clap: I still get complements, and wow factors whenever I pull into a gas station or supermarket. Now other spyder riders including myself will want to see Bobs new rides gauge:D
 
Being on my 3rd Spyder, I can't understand why they still have a 2-bit seat on a $30,000 plus machine. What would it take to put a seat that didn't look like cheap attempt at seat making. I got a Corbin for the 2008 GS, and a RDL for the 2010 RT which was transferred to the 2014 RT.

I like the new dashboard and the color tweeks. It appears no new models or radical styling changes. Not enough for :spyder2: number six for me. :yes:

Project S sounds like a good idea to get new purchasers away from the large sticker shock. I will not be in the market for that because I am used to the "upline" rides. Sept 2018 will make it a 2019 I am pretty sure. Hope they keep their promise. Otherwise, I can hear the Elio jokes on the horizon. :thumbup:
 
It's about what I figured: one last year of BNGs, and catch the BIG changes in 2019! :thumbup:
They did make some very nice improvements to the bikes, and I'm glad to have one coming! :yes::yes::yes:
 
Totally Lame

Being new to Spyders and reading all the Hype from experienced owners I got a good laugh. I don't or will never own an RT so if the gauge cluster floats your boat and a few colors then by all means power to you. Definitely didn't make me say oh damn screw my RSS I'm getting one of those.

As far as the Project "S", that was an even bigger laugh. BRP ain't no mom and pop shop so why just say yeah there will be an entry level Spyder. What better way to get entry level owners drooling at the mouth than a teaser pic from the R&D, potential specs, colors etc.
Obviously you can't be specific as someone like Honda might steal your ideas but just seems odd to me for ZERO info. Spyders are limited in the numbers so how about owner feedback program in the design and what better way to sell a new Spyder than the thousands of salesmen/saleswomen who ride them.

:agree: A new cluster is a step in the right direction, which has some nice added options, but I don't understand why BRP is holding on to some 10 year old technology. Several come to mind, such as drive belt vibrations. This has been a problem since their first bike and it still is not addressed. Secondly, OEM tires are just not good quality tires. I know everybody has found the middle of the rear tire wearing out before the outside edges wear. Thirdly, Lets put a great saddle on the Spyder. The Rt is a touring bike but the stock saddle is hardly what I call a great seat to tour in. And lastly, I wish the RT had an adjustable foot pegs, like the F3 has for us taller riders. I'm just feel somewhat cramped on the RT. I know everybody has a wish list and these are just of few of mine. Is it enough to buy a 2018 with only a cluster change and a new color scheme, not me, I'm sticking with my current ride. Just my 2 cents worth.
 
Agree this was a real snoozer.. and I'll bet money they have many problems with the new clusters and all they can do.

As far as a $10,000 machine? I don't see how this is a positive at all. It will devalue our current rides, trade-in values, resale, etc.

How about some more performance? Turbo? Shaft drive? Avoidance tech?

Glad I have no interest in a new model..... it will take some real changes for me to want to trade up again...
 
The gauge cluster is nice for sure.......well, the features sound nice anyway but why not offer it on all models? It doesn't have to be standard but should at least be an option for every model.

I don't thin its realistic to think that someone that buys a base model F3 wouldn't want the option of having the new gauges.

Because everyone's butt is different. Some are comfy on the stock seat and some will spend over a thousand dollars to make their backside happy.
 
Well...we waited, we procrastinated about what, we saw.

I feel like I got Ralphied. A new dash, toggle switch, and some speakers????????????? :roflblack::roflblack:

It looks like my predictions for the model year were right on about models, colors, and no engine tweeks. I do like the colors. :yes::yes:

For me, not worth several thousand more for a new dash and a color change. Will be sticking with my 2011 and 2014. :thumbup:
