• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Thank You BRP

I wanted to take this opportunity to thank BRP for a truly wonderful experience. This month BRP is holding special, by invitation only demo events in California. They reached out to the Spyder Ryders of America National chapter and solicited help in conducting these events. The concept was to invite the prospect to a private sale. These were people that had expressed interest in owning a Spyder. As members of SRA we were to actually lead the test drives of the spyders around the local area. We were there as experts on the spyders that were not there to sell, but answer questions about the vehicles and instruct people on how to operate the machines safely.

BRP had several representatives at these events in cluding their lead designer Denys LaPointe, Pierre Luc, Carl, Michael and Steve. We had the opportunity to sit down with Denis and give him feedback on things that would make the Spyder better. He took copious notes and asked a lot of questions. He was even sketching some of the ideas we presented to take back with him and hopefully we might see those ideas on future models. All of the gentlemen we met from BRP were wonderful to work with and extremely appreciative of the service we provided. By spending time with these gentlemen it was very clear that BRP Cares, about their end user, about their dealer network, and about the quality of the product that they bring to market, and they all ryde too. So they are just as invested in this vehicle as we are.

Finally, in exchange for the service we provided to BRP, they made a sizable donation to Ride for Kids on behalf of SRA. On this last Sunday we had the opportunity to unite a Pediatric Brain Tumor Survivor (who really wants a Spyder) with Pierre Luc and Carl. They explained to her what BRP was prepared to do for Ride For Kids (major fund raiser for the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation) and I can tell you this woman was moved to tears, and so were they. This was a tremendous feel good moment all around.

On this forum we hear all about how BRP doesn't care about us or any thing other than making a profit. BLAH BLAH! What I can tell you is this, everyone I met from BRP was a quality individual. Like us the Spyder is their passion, they ryde, they listen, and they care. I for one am not going to listen to BRP bashing anymore. These are wonderful people, they have hearts, they care, they are compassionate. They put their money where their heart is!

Thank you BRP!

Well Put....

I know our San Diego chapter did a lot of this work around southern California... They do care and do alot to help but we live in an instant gratification world and unfortunately no one is fast enough these day... Thanks BRP...

Yes indeed

Hey Gene we had one of you members, Keith, join us I. Fresno last week. We had a blast. He was an incredible sweep, and anticipated my every move as the lead! Great times!

BRP is a large corporation. As such; it's intended that they make money. (No surprises here! :D)
The folks that I've spent time talking to, have also been enthusiasts. They use the products, love the products, and get upset when they hear of difficulties.
You couldn't ask for a nicer bunch of people! :D

I think their passion for their products is evident in those products.

Any mass produced product made by humans can have problems.
The more complicated the product the more that can go wrong.'
The Spyder is a highly technical product that, IMHO, operates almost flawlessly.

I find it flippin amazing that the Spyder is as solid and trouble free as it is.

Yep

These guys love what they were doing. They were all out on the test rydes and usually had the biggest smiles on their faces! I find it so much easier to look at a huge company through the individuals that work for that company, then the true culture come to lite!

Well that is awesome! Would have loved to have been part of the technical Q&A.
Was the inadequacy of the alignments that these things are coming out of the factory with, a topic? Just sayin.... :D

Alignments, sway bars, third brake lights and many more. Denys is a really smart guy and he conducted a mini- focus group with experienced Spyder Ryders. We were the least experienced at 31,000 miles. Oh and I don't know when, but a true "entry level" Spyder is on the way!

Spyder lover

I am so happy to see this post, thank you.

about a month ago I started a post praising my Spyder because I was sick of the bashing. I know and am compassionate for those with issues but is overdue for those of us that are happy with the product to start supporting it. Another member in the past two weeks started a similar post and I was happy to see it. This site is a great place to gain knowledge and resolve problems or to simply inquire about a possible issue.

i rally take issue, and have voiced my dismay when someone who does not own one, sold theirs, or simply want to be a pessimist about the Spyder, barging in spewing crap. Especially when the issue discussed, they have not even had happen to them, only someone else on the site.

i will defend the product and again I rejoice in my decision to purchase my Spyder, gain thank you for this post.

:D Just wait until they start accusing us of "Drinking the Corporate Kool-Aid"! :roflblack:
Does anybody else want a glass?

I will gladly drink a pitcher of it, the flavor must be intense, with an aroma like sweet nectar and slide across the palate like silk across a baby's skin.

:ohyea::cheers:
