• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Texas Spyders in the Hills rally Oct. 18-20, 2018

Alamo is flat and much easier access. Three minutes from rally headquarters.

The wife informed me that this year we are staying at this RV Park because with our new 40 ft. fifth wheel the Top of the Hill RV Park would have been a bit difficult to get in and out of. Good plan ..!! Looking forward to checking out the Alamo RV Park this year ..!! See y’all there ..!

Great! There will be others there also.

Alamo Fiesta RV park is very nice. It is at exit 543 on IH10. As said, it is across from Coyote Powersports and just down the street from a Wal-Mart and close to a HEB grocery store which is at IH10, exit 540. The rally is at exit 539. I live two miles from Coyote and would invite you folks over but you would have to get up early and help me feed my eight pet deer, four racoons and two feral cats. I trapped them and had them fixed, now they won't leave. You need to talk to my wife's parrot, Buster. Never buy a parrot! We have had Buster 35 years and the bird vet said he would live another 10-15 with the great care my wife gives him. He has free flight in the house. We do not clip his wings, etc. He sleeps in his cage but the door is always open and he has a nice perch to sit on. Hey, he is family.

As I ride with the Hill Country Road Riders to breakfast or lunch every Saturday, we hit the hills west of Boerne. Ya gotta take Hwy 46 west to Hwy 16 then to Bandera, continue on 16 to Medina and Hwy 337 on to Vanderpool then 337 to Leakey. It is Lake-e, not leak-e. Continue 1 mile on 337 to the Frio Canyon Motorcycle Stop. I am sure it is on the ride schedule the Smith's have ready for you when you arrive. Welcome to Boerne. It is burn-e, not born.....ha ha

TRAFFIC SUGGESTIONS FOR RALLY

For those Spyders coming on IH35 from the north Texas area, skip Austin, TX. due to heavy traffic 24/7. Come down IH35 and take Hwy 29 west just north of Georgetown. Take 29 to Burnet and take Hwy. 281 south to Hwy 46 at Bulverde and Hwy 46 to Boerne.

The rally headquarters is at the corner of IH10 and Johns Road, exit 539. If you come in on 46 turn north at Main St. and go north about four blocks and turn left on Johns Road. See ya.

Rally Rydes

That is the same thing they told me two years ago. Last night, it took me ten minutes to do a three Sisters route starting and ending at the Best Western Hotel on Garmin Basecamp. I can post the GPX file of that ride on Facebook in five minutes for anyone to download and load into their GPS. I have done it many times on out East Texas Spyder Ryders Facebook page. I cant do it on the SITH Page though probably because I am not an administrator. I did another 200 mi route that has the Guadalupe River road and Luckenback on the same route. Its not hard. If I had one of those Ryde books I could do it on every one of the rides but not at a moments notice at registration. I would need to do it on my laptop at home.

If you are coming to the rally, email your name and home address to [email protected]. We should have our 2018 Rally Ryde Map books out of print by late September. We will put one in the mail to you. Hopefully you can work with our webmaster and we can get the GPX files on our website. Does that work for you?

Message to AY4B Greenville TX about GPX file

Is there any GPX file download for the rydes this year? I see there are a lot of rydes to choose from since the last time I came , 2 years ago.

2018 Rally Ryde Map Books should be completed and printed by late Sept. AY4B from Greenville TX. If you are registered for the rally, and want to help us get the GPX files on our rally website we can mail you a copy of the 2018 Rally Ryde Map book early October. We can't mail out the Map books to everyone in advance, but like we said if you want to help our webmaster get the maps on our rally website, we will get the Map book out to you (AY4B). These may be helpful to others attending the rally. The Rally Ryde Map books are ONLY available for those pre-registered for the rally. This rally is hosted by your Spyder friends. A LOT of work (some fun) and expense goes into making these one of a kind map books for our rally. These are favorite Hill Country Rydes of your local Spyder friends. The Rally Ryde Map book has google maps, GPS waypoints, QR code to scan and written out directions to make it easier for anyone to take our rydes alone or in your own small groups. If (AY4B from Greenville TX) want the Rally Ryde Map Book in advance to help our rally webmaster, email us your name and address and we will mail you the book. EMAIL [email protected] Hopes this helps. FYI-this rally is hosted by your Spyder friends. There will be no on site registration as we need to let our caterers know ahead of time how many are coming, as well as MANY MORE details. As of 8/19/2018 we have 270 registered for the rally. Looking forward to seeing you at the rally!!

CASCADE CAVERNS CAVE TOUR

I live about 3/4 or less miles, as the crow flies, from the caverns....take time for a tour, it will be worth your time. I have a large sink hole on my back forty where water drains into the lime stone below my land. I would bet it drains into the caverns.

RV and Tent camping at Cascade Caverns

Yes, we have a large tent section:

We are having a motorcycle rally Oct. 18-20 in Boerne. Some wish to tent camp. Do you have facilities for tents. If so, send me charges, facilities, etc. Thanks. George

Cascade Caverns is at exit 543 off IH10W. It is about two miles off the interstate on a nice road. It ain't cheap but nice and the cave is worth your trip.

I sent you an Email requesting the Rally Ryde Map Books to create the GPX files. Hoping to get that done ASAP. I can not help you get the Files on your site, I can only create the files, and send them back to you and it is up to your webmaster to post them. I will create them on Basecamp. BTW I am registered and our group has over 40 coming to the Rally.
Thanks
