• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Hotels for Texas Spyders in the Hills October 18-20,2018

[FONT=&quot]OMG!! The hotels in Boerne are all smaller hotels. We had 30 rooms blocked at the BW for a special rally rate. We are hearing they have been reserved!! We got a message from Comfort Inn this morning they are getting reservations, but still have rooms available. All the other hotels in Boerne have rooms available. NOTHING is far in Boerne. Vendors, ryde starts, BBQ, social events will be at the www.pavilionfoodpark.com. If you go to their website home page at the top left it says "map" click on that and you will get a google map. From links it will show you the location of the Boerne hotels. Pick the hotel that best fits you and make your reservation! On our rally website "Accommodation" page we have the special rally rates of the hotels. Most of them you have to call the hotel directly to get the rate. Exciting--Boerne will be crawling with Spyders! www.spydersinthehills.com

Thanks!

Registered and reserved a room. Looking forward to it. Was actually down in Boerne for a ryde today and had a blast.

The Best Western was supposed to be full but the other day when I decided I was going, I called them first. I got a suite for the same price as a regular room thanks to my rewards I signed up for at Spyderfest. Dont tell anyone I told you....:yes::yes:

I'm signed up for the rally and made reservations at the Motel 6. But now that I have a motorhome, I'll reserve at a campground. Where are campers planning to stay?

Spyders in the Hills

Prairie Spyder,

I have reserved "The Yellow Rose of Texas" cabin at Top of the Hill RV Resort. Same place as last year. Great! Only a short 8-mile ryde from Boerne. I saw a 30-foot camper with a Spyder there last year.

Enjoy.

The wife & I are signed up ..!

We attended last year and really enjoyed it! Looking forward to it again this year ..!!

You may have it already, since it's the best known of the rydes, but just in case, here's a link to where you can download the GPX file:

Spyders in the Hills has a list of 15 rydes to choose from on their site. I was just wondering if they started using Basecamp and have the ryde files available. They can post the files on their facebook page. I do it all the time with the rydes I lead. Just takes a few minutes.

We're not quite that sophisticated! Last year we mapped them out in Google maps and converted them to QR codes. We thought that was pretty high-tech! We do print a book with Ryde details, maps, etc. that is handed out as part of registration.

That is the same thing they told me two years ago. Last night, it took me ten minutes to do a three Sisters route starting and ending at the Best Western Hotel on Garmin Basecamp. I can post the GPX file of that ride on Facebook in five minutes for anyone to download and load into their GPS. I have done it many times on out East Texas Spyder Ryders Facebook page. I cant do it on the SITH Page though probably because I am not an administrator. I did another 200 mi route that has the Guadalupe River road and Luckenback on the same route. Its not hard. If I had one of those Ryde books I could do it on every one of the rides but not at a moments notice at registration. I would need to do it on my laptop at home.

If you can send me one of those books or email me just a pic of the maps. I can post the routes on our https://www.facebook.com/groups/USSpyderRyders.EastTexas/ page. I just need some time to transfer the routes to Basecamp.
Its nice to be able to do the routes in a smaller group that can go at its own pace. The guy that led the Three Sisters ride when I went was slow and we had to egg him on to pick up the pace. Then there are those that like going at a slower pace or get separated from the main group for one reason or another. Those folks need to be able to use their GPS to finish the ride they came all that way to do.

I will send this year's version to you once finalized. Thanks!

Looking forward to attending for the first time this year. Wife's parents are in Kerrville so will visit for a few days and then the rally. Excited that the Road Warrior Foundation is ending their San Diego to San Antonio ride at the rally as well. See you in October.
