• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Texas Spyders in the Hills rally Oct. 18-20, 2018

Is there any GPX file download for the rydes this year? I see there are a lot of rydes to choose from since the last time I came , 2 years ago.

Lots of rydes. Right now we still have 2017 rydes on our website, but we will be adding even more for this year! You will receive a 2018 Rally Ryde Map Book at the registration table. It has codes you can scan to load Google maps. I will check with some other team members if they can do what you are asking.

That is the same thing they told me two years ago. Last night, it took me ten minutes to do a three Sisters route starting and ending at the Best Western Hotel on Garmin Basecamp. I can post the GPX file of that ride on Facebook in five minutes for anyone to download and load into their GPS. I have done it many times on out East Texas Spyder Ryders Facebook page. I cant do it on the SITH Page though probably because I am not an administrator. I did another 200 mi route that has the Guadalupe River road and Luckenback on the same route. Its not hard. If I had one of those Ryde books I could do it on every one of the rides but not at a moments notice at registration. I would need to do it on my laptop at home.

We don't have our 2018 Rydes mapped out yet. You will get a nice Rally Ryde Map Book in your registration packet. Last year we did not post our ryde routes on line. Not sure yet about this year.

Road Warrior Awareness Ryde and patriotic BBQ at Spyders in the Hills rally

SPYDERS IN THE HILLS RALLY --We are beginning to get a few of you registering for the Texas rally who plan to arrive with the ROAD WARRIOR vets. After your arrival, there will be a police escorted Road Warrior Awareness Ryde led by our Road Warriors down historic Boerne Main St. Immediately following the ryde will be a patriotic Texas BBQ honoring our Road Warriors. To participate, you will need to be registered for the rally prior to your arrival. We need to know how many will be attending so we will have enough food and give the PD an approximate number of ryders. Texas welcomes you! Very exciting!!! Only a $25 registration fee at www.spydersinthehills.com

we parked our RV at the Top of the Hill RV Park and it wasn’t bad. It is a short run to get to the Spyder event too ..! See you there .!

I prefer the RV park almost directly across from Coyote Motor Sports. Spread out and lots of room. Large RV park with easy in and out to the sites.

Patty, you owe it to yourself to go first class. I think last time it was $38 and well worth it because of location. That was for a 65 foot

pull through.

their website says it's $42.50 with my 15% Escapees discount for their lowest priced sites. Then they go up to $51.

If you can send me one of those books or email me just a pic of the maps. I can post the routes on our https://www.facebook.com/groups/USSpyderRyders.EastTexas/ page. I just need some time to transfer the routes to Basecamp.
Its nice to be able to do the routes in a smaller group that can go at its own pace. The guy that led the Three Sisters ride when I went was slow and we had to egg him on to pick up the pace. Then there are those that like going at a slower pace or get separated from the main group for one reason or another. Those folks need to be able to use their GPS to finish the ride they came all that way to do.

Our Rally Ryde Map Book is made up of at least 18 of our local Spyder Ryders favorite rydes in the Hill Country. This map book will be included in the registration packet. We are still putting together the rydes for this year. We go to a LOT of work mapping out these rydes, giving written instructions, GPS coordinates and QR codes for each ryde. No ryde led by a local will have more than 20 ryders. Most rydes last year averaged around 15. Because of the maps provided it makes it VERY easy to form your own groups or go on your own. Yes, the Three Twisted Sisters is an outstanding ryde, but there is so much more to see in the Hill Country and it is very helpful for the locals to share their information with you.

Rally updates coming in July and August

JULY and AUGUST watch for updates on T-shirts, at least 18 of our local Spyder ryders favorite scenic rydes for small groups and fun social events. Hopefully you already know about our talented vendors, our own CanAm Road Warrior vets coming and our patriotic Texas BBQ. Fun times ahead!
