• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Teddy's New Adventures

Wonder if there are like those little shoes for cats so she couldnt get her claws into the Tedster, more like a boxing match if you will.

Just a thought.

They do actually make blunted claw toppers that you "glue" on over their trimmed nails, & we tried them before, but within 2 days, she had them chewed off & was a lil on the pissed side to boot.

Teddy had a vet visit today & I discussed the issue with his vet & also showed her his war wounds. Both of his ears have been sliced from Slydies claws, tho they have since healed & with his hair grown out right now, its not really noticable, but they will always have the slashes in them. Her advice was what I thought, Skydie needs to find a new good home where she is the only pet & get the attention & love that she deserves. I feel sad that I made this mistake in judgement and am reminded of an old saying my mother used to tell us all the time. "Always remember, the road to Hell is paved with good intentions."

So, with that said, I'll make my last plea, that if there are any SpyderLovers out there that would like a new pet cat, Skydie is up for adoption to a good home. I will try for the next week to find her a good home, but if that doesn't happen, for Teddys safety, she'll have to go to the shelter.

On a side note, you might call and ask the shelter where you got her from and mention about the claws becoming an issue and a hazard in your home, and that you might like to keep her if they would grant you the ability to remove her front claws. I mean they might rather that than her return to the shelter. And she might play better if she couldnt hurt the tedster. Worst case, they say no and take her back. I mean its up to you, but in this world I have found that once you can steel yourself against negative feedback and realize that the worst most people can tell you is "No" you open the door to a place where so many more things the answer is "yes" and "sure why not" that you would be astonished. Heck, when I get to meet you and Ted you will most likely meet me along with Moxi and Sonja, and if those 2 knockouts chose to hang with me, its proof that there are more "yes"s out there than noes, because they are fly ladies and I am a marginal dude.

I have two cats and even if i had agreed to not declaw them it sure wouldn't stop me from declawing MY cat if thats what it took to be able to keep them. I don't know for sure in your situation if the shelter could do anything about it or not. And how would they find out? Seems to me that giving up a pet because someone won't let you do what is neccessary to keep it is just wrong.

Pics of the Tedster check'n SpyderLovers & at the Vets office today

Its not only the agreement about not declawing, but I personally don't agree with it. I've had an adult cat declawed in the past & it totally changed her personallity and not for the good. Ever since that experience, I swore I wouldn't do that again. As much as we try n justify it for ourselves, IMHO it just isn't humane to do to an animal. And doing so, would remedy the danger to Teddy, but I fear the underlying problem, his jealousy would continue to get worse. And that could cause all types of potential problems that I personally would rather avoid. He needs to feel confident that he has my full attention when we're at home, that way he can remain so outgoing & loving while doing his Therapy work or just out ryde'n & schmoozen. Not to mention, Skydie deserves alot more love & attention than I give her. With Teddy & I on the road so much, she's left home alone & thats alot.

Thought I'd share some pics taken today of Teddy at his vets office & him checking the SpyderLovers Website. Gosh, he's so shaggy right now, its kill'n me to not shave him down, but we have to wait til warmer weather for that. If you notice in the close-up of his head, he's get'n that old man white goatee around his muzzle. Used to be solid black as a pup, but like all of us, as he ages (he's 3 now) its get'n lighter & lighter.IMG_20111226_094025.jpgIMG_20111228_122036.jpgIMG_20111228_121752.jpgIMG_20111228_121821.jpg

Yup, & it drives me crazy

Teddy looks alot different with all that hair !!!! :)
Especially now with it being cold, he's gotta get layerd up & all that hair gets worked into a rats-nest every time we ryde. Then its torture for him when I go to brush him, but its a neccessary evil, otherwise he'd end up matted & then I'd have to shave him, & now isn't the season for that.

UGH!!! On an unrelated note, we didn't ryde at all yesterday & it got up to 50. But I spent the entire day on the couch suffering from withdrawl symptoms & not from my Spyder Addiction. Its almost a New Year & I need to get my butt in gear & get healthy, so the first place for me to start is with eating & drinking healthy. Not sure if anyone else out there is addicted to caffiene or not, but stopping it is very comparable to the withdrawl symptoms that a crack or heroin addict experiences & I was going through them all yesterday, the cold sweats, shakes, horrible headaches, hot flashes & vomiting. It wasn't a pretty site, thats for sure, but Teddy was right there by my side offering his reassurence that all would be well. They say it takes roughly 72 hours to get through it, & I'm just about there & am feeling so much better today. Just checked the weather status & its overcast now & about 53 with a chance of light showers. Need to get out & ryde while we still have decent temps. cause the bottom is dropping out & the high in the 30s is forcasted for the forseeable future. So I think a lil ryde is in order. Hope y'all can get a good ryde in as well.

From an ex-Dr. Pepper addict. I feel your pain. Now I only drink water and I feel much better. Hang in there. You'll be glad your doing this!

So much happiness & smiles in so little time

Figures, we were out for about 15 minutes & BAM, here comes the rain. Kinda crazy, in 15 minutes of ryding, Teddy had at least 5 pics taken of him ryde'n, & thats just the ones that I saw. I have no clue how many that were passing by on the highway, but I'm sure it was a few more:thumbup:

Now that we're home, the rain has stopped, clouds have parted & I can see the sun again. Guess we'll make another trip out & see if we can actually make it to the grocery store this time, without get'n wet :p

Thanks Leslie, appreciate the kind words of support. Water has been the only thing for the past 3 days now & I am craving something else like crazy, so I thought we'd head to the store so I can get some decaf. green tea, which is one of my favorites & is good for you as well. Helps to break up the monotony of just plain water all the time, as I'm sure you know

Cloudy & overcast all day with a high around 43

Not the greatest day to be out ryde'n, but of course we were. Put on almost 100 miles mostly put'n around town & let'n ppl take pics of the Tedster ryde'n in stYle. At least today, we didn't get caught out in the rain again. Look'n forward to 2012 & hopefully more dryer days than our record breaking rainfall of 2011.
:yes:HAPPY NEW YEAR
