Suggestions?

Spyder RT. two minor problems. 1st. I don't have the air compressor for the rear shock. Sometimes I get the rear shock adjustment gauge on my display covering up my heat readout, and it never goes away. 2nd, I get no indication when any of my rear cargo hatches are open, and lost about 150$ worth of cold weather gear when I was driving down the road and my saddle bag popped open. Don't know for how many miles it was open. My service guy that I trust seems to think it might be the cluster, but he's going to check with BRP and get back to me. Personally, I'm thinking since they (shock sensor and latch sensors) are both in from the same area (rear) of the bike that they might share a wiring harness that has gone bad or come loose or something, but I have no idea where that might be. I hope it's not the cluster as I don't want to lose my mileage.

If the cluster ever required replacement , they would program your miles in it .

Atleast in cagers I know this is 100 % true .

It's the same with the RS unless there were some changes I didn't know about. :dontknow:opcorn:

I had my instrument cluster changed out about 9000 miles ago. I had 38,500 miles on the old odometer and the folks at Cowtown were NOT able to program those miles into the new cluster. I had to re-start at 0.0 miles. Bummer I do not believe there is anyway to change the mileage on the odometer. :dontknow:

Accordingto NHTSA:
When repairing or replacing an odometer incapable of registering the same mileage as before the repair or replacement, the odometer must be reset to zero. Thereafter,the vehicle must be sold with the mileage brand listed as “not actual.”
When completing the odometer disclosure statement for vehicles without odometers orwith broken odometers, enter the word “NONE” and check the box “Not Actual Mileage – Warning – Odometer Discrepancy.” Dealers may include a note after the odometer discrepancy information indicating the odometer is broken or missing. When the new title is issued to the purchaser, the front of the title will not show a mileage but will carry the message “No Odometer.”

I know 100 % that for automobiles the mileage is reprogrammed back in .. Why this isn't done with bikes , I don't know -- I guess I assumed due to it being electronic ..

Harley when you order an aftermarket speddo from them they have the dealer verify the mileage and send that in with the order. the new speedo arrives with the old mileage already in it...

just BRP can not figure a way to reporgram the mileage into new clusters...
