• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

STS Mirror problem

Hi all,
The mirror on my wife's 2013 STS has been hit and moves in and out. I was reading and there is a mention of a tab and you have to slide the mirror forward to remove. I know I am missing something. Can someone give me directions on what has to be removed and how to get the mirror off to see what is broken. Is the tab on the mirror or panel?:banghead:

From memory:
Remove the clear wind deflector
Remove the body colored panel below the mirror.

To remove mirror, give a sharp rap straight up. The farther away from the body the better. This will dislodge the bottom two pins that hold the mirror in place. They are held by springs. The sharp rap/hit releases the pins from the springs.

The top pin is held by a little mickey mouse piece of plastic. If anything broke, it is most likely this little piece of plastic. Part should be available from the usual suppliers.
The plastic piece is held in be three (or four) bolts. You will see them all once you remove the mirror.

There is also an electrical connection. It is obvious.

Just curious how only the mirror was hit? Sounds more like a vandal than accident :lecturef_smilie: Just a redneck opinion :coffee:

Thanks for all replies. It was just popped out. All fixed and I got some well needed ataboys.:clap:

ST Mirror

Thanks for this very timely post.
I just bought LEDs that I plan to put in the bucket behind the ST mirrors.
Was agonizing over removing the mirrors but no more.
Great timing.
Cheers, David C.
