• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. What are your thoughts on Magic Mirrors or Magnetic Mirror mounts for a 2016 RT Limited?

I wouldn't be without them. I don't understand the 10 Year no work policy. The motor is the same, the suspension is the same, the wheels and brakes are the same, the only real difference is the electronics and infotainment stuff.

Yes, my thoughts as well, but it’s been confirmed with other riders as well. I get it, if they damage a body panel it may be hard to find or even get. But everything else is somewhat the same mechanically!

crna59 your lucky to have a dealer who will work on a 2016, the one near Syracuse won’t even touch one over 10 years old. Looking forward to doing my own maintenance buying the magic mirrors and some other items from Lamonster. Then I will research oil but buy my filters and such from a supporting vendor from this site.
I am thinking if he would not work on one 10 years or older than he should just shut the door, he's not much of a mechanic in my book!

I'm not a contrarian; to each his own. Shawn Smoak has a long winded video of doing an oil change on a 2015 RT in which he shows the correct way to remove and reinstall the mirrors. Find it here:

Agree! What about normal maintenance? No oil changes, tire replacements or services of any kind on a 10 year old machine? My crystal ball tells me that if a business refuses to service or repair a product over ten years old, then that business may not exist much longer than ten years. My dad's business survived for many years because he worked on just about any automotive product that rolled through the door, and most of his customers were repeat customers. He worked well into his 70's and several of his customers were third generation customers.

They sell snowmobiles, atv’s, utv’s, Spyders, pontoon boats
They are a BRP dealer and Polaris
They claim if they service a machine over 10 years old and damage something parts are not available. But I do agree on oil changes, tires and engine service should be done. But they are standing firm on this 10 year thing, it’s a head scratcher because there’s money in service.

I bought LaMonster's Magic Mirrors about two years ago. I really appreciate both how well they work and how easy they are to install. As others have said, don't get pinched by those magnets!

Added bonus: the mirrors had only been removed from my RT three times, all by the dealer, before I installed the MMs, and already the mounting hardware was bent. The OEM mount is just a poor design.

Good luck!

Thats what a service agreement is all about, you sign it knowing that if something out of their control happens, it can't fall back on them. The big problem is they don't want to think out of the box and use the resources that are out here. There are bone yards and aftermarket companies with parts for the most part that can fix our old iron! There are times when you have to cut your loses also! :(

Yes I agree they are shooting themselves in the foot. I know of two people now who have backed out on the purchase of a new Spyder from them.

Sorry, Jay, but respectfully, I don't agree with you on this point. Even doing it the correct way, those mounts are super fragile and over time will and do fail. Those little spring clips are garbage. IMO, the MM are the hot ticket for long term ownership.
