• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Storage locks not catching

2010 RT SM5 here.

I’m having issues with all my storage compartments not wanting to catch. Example, I close the trunk and it doesn’t catch and remains open. The sides are doing and the front is the worst. It has to sit just so to catch. Do I need to wd40 them or something? I didn’t want to mess with it until I got a little guidance. I don’t feel any resistance when closing them, they just don’t grab. No issues releasing them, except the front sometimes sticks when I open it.

Something very simple and easy to check (especially the frunk) is the runner gasket that goes around the opening. If that get popped up, the lid will have a hard time to latch.

Hi Jenn, Check the little black hook like mechanism where it catches the lid or saddle bag covers. You should be able to push it closed and open again with the levers. This would be a good place to lube also ( but not WD-40, use a real lubricant, sparingly ) . They should "click" closed and " snap" open when operating the levers.

Good luck, Lew L

If the gasket isn't the culprit .... you can loosen the 10mm bolts on the side ( slightly ) and move the latch up a hair .... Mike

I sparingly use a drop ( one ) of motor oil. Let in get pulled into the mechanism and then wipe it down. It is amazing how much dust and shmutz get in and around under the tupperware. I did cut it down ALOT by stuffing small pieces of foam in the openings under the seat.

with mine, the key to unlock is a "push down+turn to left". the frunk won't latch, so a "push down + just a little to right, but not far enough to unlatch seat" will spring the frunk latch back. seems to be in the cylinder, cause it "clicks a little"
