• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Sticky Seat

Lately when I gas up I have a hard time getting my seat release to open. I push the key down and turn to gas tank icon. Sometimes it releases easily and others I have to repeat several times for a release. Does anyone know if there is an adjustment needed or lube some place?
I'm afraid I'll get to a gas station on empty and can't open seat to gas up. Suggestions please. 2011 RT Limited :gaah:

The seat has some adjustment room with the bolts holding it on. Press down, turn key and lift seat. Check the bolts and make adjustment.:2thumbs:

If you take the presser off the latch by pressing the seat down with one hand and turning the key with the other hand it will open right away

So what I did - remove the seat latch pin altogether. There is no need for it. That way you can lift the seat without messing with the key at all.

Sticky seat latch

I'd be careful about taking the latch off, your neighbor might need some gas for his lawnmower.:D

Best fix is a Corbin seat with the gas door. Not sure why BRP didn't go that route on the 2011 ? Maybe for 2012 ?

I agree. Always best to have a locking mechanism for a gas tank. Too easy for someone to siphon it out, especially, if gas prices remain very high. If you keep your bike in a garage, I wouldn't worry too much...but if you travel a lot, you will take a greater risk...
