I have about 5K miles on my 2010 spyder, and overall it has not been bad since they did all the recalls. Recently I started to get periodic-steering position error lights, and Saturday it went into limp home mode for the first time.
I removed the key and started it again and the lights were gone.
The dealer said they are "phantom lights," and its "normal. If I stop and restart and the lights are gone it was nothing more than I communication error. After al he says, this is very complicated machine. So is my car and it doesn't give me phantom warnings.
The other theory I was given was that maybe I was lightly dragging the brake-can that cause this sort of error?
Finally, for a machine that I paid almost 30K for, there should not be any "phantom, don't worry about it," lights.
