• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I get calls all the time from guys that are having some sort of problem with their Spyders. I don't mind helping if I can but sometimes I just don't have a answer. It's great when they call me back to tell me what fixed the problem.

Tatt2r just had a problem like that. What I told him to check didn't fix the problem but what did is great info but really hard to find unless you knew where to look for it.

Here's where you can help. If you had a problem with your Spyder list it here and then tell us what you or the dealer did to fix it. I think we can put together a really valuable resource for other SpyderLovers to check first before they bring it into a dealer. When I get a good list I'll build a webpage that's easy to find to reference problems we have.

Here's what your post should look like.

Problem- Spyder quit running. No dash or lights.
Solution- Loose ground cable on battery

Thanks, Lamont. This is a good idea.

I also think this will get huge, fast.

If I can just suggest that the simple things should be allowed on the list, too. Some of the solutions I found on this board a year ago that absolutely saved my sanity were the simplest things that you all figured out:

Problem- Parking brake won't disengage.
Solution-Hold down right foot on brake while depressing parking brake.[/QUOTE]

..and like that.

Thanks again. Look forward to seeing the list.

Great idea.

I have had only straight forward problems fixed by the dealer, but if it helps:

Problem-Squeaking from front end

Solution-Shock replaced and bushings lubed

I would suggest to put the problems the bad relay causes, and the part number for it under solutions.

That's a great idea !
Lot of good info shared on this site, i must admit it has help me solve many issues without having to go to a dealer.

Great people
Great site
Great :spyder2::2thumbs:

Problem: Spyder RS SE5 will not move or seems like clutch is slipping when in gear
Solution: Front sprocket may be damaged and needs to be replaced.

In the meantime - till the webpage is ready - how about just pinning it to the top of the Shop Talk list of threads. Make it easy to get to and review new posts. Just a thought....:f_spider:

Problem - Can't get chores done on weekends.

Solution - Quit ryding SPYDER so much.

Yeah, like that's going to happen!

Problem: Black seat too hot in summer.

Solution: Beaded cover from Walmart or Auto Zone, $9.99
It's long enough to cover passenger seat, also.

PROBLEM After 15,000 trouble free miles limp mode would flash on. 2010 RTS

SOLUTION Initially replacement of steering sensors and DPS. Problem solved by replacing wiring harness that extends from front to back. After replacing wiring harness, 4,000 trouble free miles.
