Spyderfest 2018 pretty hushed this year

A few years back when I joined the group here at S/L, it seemed like Spyderfest was being discussed on a daily basis from Jan 1st until June. This year it sure has been kept on the down low. From what I've read and seen, it sounds like this year's event might have some of the best opportunities. We've gone the last couple years and will be going again this year. There were a couple host hotels announced a while back, with talk of at least two more, but I haven't heard anything more of the others. Is it some sort of ploy to assure the first ones are booked up first? Mehhh, it don't make a difference I guess, we're booked at a cheaper rate than the two host locations previously announced.

Yeah, I saw those announcements....not much info regarding hotels. Good stuff regarding things going on and a few of the events.

Just the fact that the host Hotels sold out very quickly this year tells you that this one will be bigger.

I figured something was up when Lamont bought his latest Spyder from IMotorsports.

I don't see Pitbull on the main page as a dealer either.

Yep, they had a divorce.... I believe Lamont previously rented his location from Len and Len needed the space so asked him to move??? anyway, that was a word I heard on the street.. maybe some more fake news???
Last year's Spyderfest was a disaster with all of the rain..

Don't do FaceBook either here so hope they can find a happy medium to keep us all posted on Spyderfest for 2018.

I'd like to go to Springfield and scope out the new places so I know where to make a reservation. Hope for great weather this year and good security and so forth. Will need to get my air bag pump fixed before we go to Spyderfest though so got to find time to get it down there to get repaired. Oh boy!

I'm not sure why you would say that Bob. There are no restrictions from anyone promoting Spyderfest on this site. Yes Len and I had a falling out but that didn't change anything as far as promoting the event here. So go ahead an included me in your PM's and I'll be glad to tell you if you have bad info or not.

I never rented anything from Len. I did put over six figures into that building up front out of my pocket to help him start Pitbull but I was not asked to move. So yeah I guess you would call that fake news.

And I'll also stand by any other statement that I've made in here.
As far as all of the PMs: Every one of them asked me what I knew.
I said that I didn't have any details, and I didn't want any.
It's a private matter between you guys, and I just hope that it all gets resolved...

I was one who seeked out info from Bob thru PM, and he said he didn't really know any details other than what LaMont pointed out a few posts up. It's all good. It's between two guys who obviously love everything Spyder, so let it be between them and have no influence on the rest of us. Hopefully someday it'll be water under the bridge and the earth will rotate as usual. Len and Lamont have given us lots to enjoy....so....let's enjoy it and leave their issue to them to resolve.
