• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

spyder tie downs on trailer

Has anyone used motorcycle wheel chock or over the wheel tie down straps to secure your spyder on the trailer? I know the manual recommends straps through the wheels but with an enclosed trailer that is difficult. Very little room to work with at the front of the trailer. I was thinking of using motorcycle wheel chocks in front with tire straps. This way I can work over the fender and everything stays in place. Rear tire would be as recommended.

I use the E Track system in my toy hauler with a strap over each from tire. Available at Northern Tool. PM me with your email address if want to see pictures.

Back the Spyder into the trailer. Easy to strap down then.

I have an open trailer. I use a Condor wheel chock on one side and a much less expensive Kurayakin chock on the other side. I use a strap to fasten the front wheels to the chocks, and then use a ratchet from D ring, through rear wheel to another D ring in the rear. It rode very well that way for about 1,200 miles to PA and back.

Wheel chocks

I use 2 wheel chocks on an open alum. Trailer and use 2 pad locks, one on each side to lock the mechanism that comes up on the back of the wheels. Had to drill a hole on each side to accomodate. Take an 1800 mile round trip each winter, Spyder never moves at all. Use a wheel chock behind the rear wheel.

I tie mine down through the wheels in my enclosed trailer. I use Ancra aircraft-type rings fittings in the floor, RV wheel chocks from Walmart, microfiber cloths to protect the wheels, and 1" ratchet straps. I cross the straps in front, to reach the nearby rings. Having a V-nose trailer helps, but it is not essential, since the Spider must be loaded a little way from the front to balance the trailer, anyway.
