• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

How are Spyder sales going? ie, are sales going to BRP's plan, are spyders hard for dealers to get is there a Mfg backlog. Is there any info on the 2012 models.

Thanks in advance.:2thumbs:

Locally they seem strong...

Cannot answer that (BRP can)...

From what I understand BRP asks the dealers to make their order for the year in January, and to tell BRP when they want those to come in (What months, say 5 in April and 12 in May). Then once those orders are in BRP tries to get those delivered as requested. Minus any issues found in the assembly process @ BRP, they usually get them as ordered. Can the Dealers order more? They can request them, not sure how BRP controls honoring those requests. That said, must of the time from June on it is more about dealers trading back and forth than it is getting Spyders form BRP.

The only backlog I heard about this year was on the Viper Red units. Some panel was not matching the rest of the Spyder or something. Caused a little delay.

I learned last year that BRP shuts down different portions of it's entire operations in June. Basically, no assembly work for at least three weeks in June, then the Re-Tooling begins for the Snowmobiles and or changes for the next years models (It all depends on what each plant produces as to what they do at this point) and a lot of the staff takes two weeks in June, and they alternate those in waves so that there is a minimal impact. This is also when the powers to be, R&R and such have collected raw data and need to sort it out.

What does all these mean? Easy. No real information is going to come out of BRP for the 2012 models until September as far as changes go for the Spyder line. Some stuff will leak, some folks are given info that they have signed a NDA for. And we all start having wish lists and hopes for what we individually and collectively think will happen.

I can't really answer the thread's question save it to say that BRP made an announcement at the owner's event in Maggie Valley, that sales for the Spyder had exceeded those of the Seadoo.

I doubt they'd reveal that kind of information. Just my 2 cents.

:agree: I expected more graphical charts and numbers from BRP in the event... But they did say the sale numbers are going up at a rate faster than they expected.:chat:

I was told by my dealer that over 20,000 Spyders nationwide have been sold. Not to bad for 3 going on 4 years of a new thing in this economy and the price one has to pay. I have 2 Honda 1300 cruisers and 2 Spyder RSS. I wouldn't trade my Spyders for any thing out there. My wife would never trade or sell her Spyder. The Honda are just motorcycles, the Spyders are freedom.

Over 3 grand have been registered just in the Buckeye State alone from what I've been told by a reliable source!

It's nice to know that we're almost to the point of making a dent in the market... :2thumbs:
Here's to continued marketing and sales sucess!:yes:

I've actually been to Show Low, AZ - had a friend in the Navy who's Grandma lived there….

In this economy and with these gas prices, it's no surprise that Skidoos aren't selling - ATVs are used on the farm, as well as fun, Snowmobiles are winter transportation for lots of folks, but Skidoos are just toys.

Every time I ask a dealer about sales, the stock answer is "we're selling everyone we can get" (Read: two) - I know of roughly 10 on the road in the Portland area, and there are probably another few that no one sees - there's one that's been on Craigslist for at least two years, with under 500 miles on it and an unchanged price (was too high two years ago). Perhaps the Florida and California markets are big enough for BRP…. however, the number of newbes on the forum sure seem to be increasing of late (most in the East tho….)

We have owned our RT Limited for two months today and have over 1,600 miles on it. My wife takes her safety course next month. After that it won't be long before I will be in the market for a second Spyder. We absolutely like this one.

At Americade last year we saw maybe 3-5 :spyder2:s This year we saw at least 20 with the White RT the most popular .
