• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. Spyder question

Spyder Overheating

With all those different codes especially the communication codes, I would suspect a bad battery or ground connection.
You say battery was just replaced? Who replaced it? You may want to check your battery connection and the frame ground connection.

Bob

This was happening before I even replaced the battery.

Normally I might suspect an engine temp sensor, but your saying you saw no overheat on the gauge?

Scenario: I can be travelling on the freeway about 60 MPH, while travelling the temp gauge will slowly move up, and eventually go into "hi temp" then "limp home mode", I can pull over for about 10-20 seconds and restart the bike and the temp will be normal.

i would check the power commander and see what is hooked up to the o2 sensor. Some fuel controlers required their own o2 senor there could be some miscommunications going on there. Is the engine overheating or is the air going into the throttle bodies hotter than normal. :dontknow:

Maybe have the thermostat checked and the temp sending unit...nothing motorized can cool down that fast...sensor can .....

These are all the sensors on my spyder I can think of, which one you think needs to be replaced?

707600557 (oxygen sensor)
710002051 (yaw angel sensor)
709400799 (sensor support)
515176508 (oil level sensor)
707000995 (pressue and temperature sensor)
420664045 (camshaft position sensor)
420274040 (temperature sensor)

My first thought as well.
This many codes are probably all generated by the same cause, most likely a poor ground somewhere.
I would be strongly guided by finless Bob. He has a powerful skill set.
Check the connections he's suggesting. Also make sure all the relays and fuses are driven home into their sockets.

How do you check to see if the spyder is grounded?

Good question the trailer modules also seem to have grounding problems. But wit all the code listed im wondering if BRP has built or programmed something to not like the power commander, or other after market non BRP stuff............¿?

I just replaced the oxygen sensor and temperature sensor, and their is no change in bike. I ride, get up to 60 MPH and it goes into hi temp then limp home mode, I shut off the bike and turn it on and back to normal operating temperature.

I don't know what it could be, changed the sensors and I wonder if it is the power commander, if it is how do I shut off the power commander?

Honestly dont know it sounds more like complications BRP engineered to keep from using performance enhancing power commander..... Hope not but proprietary has become the front line for most manufactures now.

I wasn't there but I still care! POW /MIA VETS
