• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Spyder Pricing -- Newbie questions

used price

I just picked up a 300 mile se5 for 12,200 and 700.00 to transport. Looks like new. Dealer wanted 16,500 for a red with 2 bros. pipe. Probably would be 17,500 OTD. Moto.on.

2008 with 3,000 miles

I got lucky and bought a 2008 Yellow with 3,000 mile and not a scratch on it anywhere. Won it on Ebay for $11,001.00 It was a DEMO, has all the recalls done and the 3,000 service. I am the first owner. Warranty till May 2010. Saved over $5,000

Wow !!! That is indeed an awesome deal.:congrats: I picked up mine from a private seller, a silver SM5 w/Hindle and 1500mi for $10,750. Bought a 6x10 utility trailer for $500 on Craiglist and transported it myself. I figure I can use the trailer to haul the Spyder with me when going to the cottage and ryde it there.

I just bought a Silver SM5 3500 miles, PE-3528 from a local seller for $14500 w/ Hindle, Fog Lights, Mono Seat, Trunk Liner, Seat Cover, Inside Cover. Not a scratch on the bike. Cant wait till spring. I Hate WINTER

What are the recalls ??? Does this board have a listing of recalls on the :spyder:

I can't remember all of them but there was one for brake reservoir caps (something with putting in vent holes?), air in the brake lines, brake squealing, battery leaking (wrong type of battery) and probably some others that I just can't think of right now. Some of those might not have been official recalls or were only limited to a small number of the very first Spyders.

If you have the time, maybe do a little searching on this forum and read some of the older posts about any potential issues. I remember a big thing at first was the pre-delivery assembly / inspection by the dealers. There were some issues with the brake pads and rotors not being cleaned properly, temperature sensor not being installed, etc. However, buying a used Spyder should eliminate those issues.

Not sure how far you are willing to go for one but I know we have a Dealer here that has 2 - 2008 SE5's in stock and ready to go that they are offering some discounts on them.
Hi all, new here and first time poster. What if anything was changed on the 2009s other than the MSRP?

welcome oldngray {mike g,} i was told about this dealer in hamilton,al that nobody can touch their prices. you can go here if this would help you out on looking { MotorSportsSuperStore.com } and click on the red :spyder:in the middle of the page.

Older guys riding spyders

Just replying to your post, I took delivery of an 08 Spyder mid October this year, I have 1200 miles on it already. And to answer your question, I know of 5 other guys my age here in my town who recently purchased Sypders,

Where are you in CT? We should connect in the Spring and go ryding.

Hi Mike. I live in Allentown, PA and drove all the way to Goldsboro, NC to Performance East. I purchased mine from Travis Weeks. He was the best out the door price when I bought mine back in October 2008. Give him a call and see what he gives you as a price. Let him know I sent you and he will give you an honest price. I was very please with their service. Let me know if you need further info. Be glad to help out. Good luck.

I checked their prices on their website and they are below msrp. How are they able to give such good pricing? Volume maybe? I may have to take a trip from NY to make my purchase.
