• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Okay Lets see if I can get this right. I have 2010 Spyder RSS, About 2,300 Miles on it. I just checked the oil today and it is at the ADD level. Can i go to walmart and buy oil and then just add it in the oil container? and how much should I add? 1 Qt 2 Qt ? and what oil do you guys recommend? I am going to take it for a 3000 mile service but Just until then I want to make sure there is oil in there. I dont know why the oil would be so low? could it be that I ride fast and it eats up the oil?

Here's the thing..!!

these engines use oil. You should check the oil every 300/500 miles and it can be 1/2 qt low give or take depending. I like to check it right as I end a long ryde with the engine hot. Your manual tells you the right way to check the oil. You can not check it cold. You are better off getting some qts of the same oil that was used at your last oil change. There are oils at auto parts and walmart but you have to make sure they are the same specs..check your manual...

DO NOT add oil yet

I would go to the BRP dealer and get the BRP approved oil they use, if you
only have 2300 miles on it it may not even have had the orig. oil changed yet..
Don't mix the oil with cheeeeeeeeeep oil.

it is a 2010, i hope it has had the oil changed before :hun::hun:, Go to a BRP Dealer and get some oil from then until you get the oil changed, add 3 or 4 ounces at a time until you get the oil level up to the proper level.

Make sure that you are checking the oil when the engine is completely warmed up. Follow the directions in your Owner's Manual

Walmart stocks Valvoline, Mobil1, and Castrol Motorcycle oils.
As long as the bottle says 10-40 and Jaso Ma or Jaso Ma2 you can use it and mix it with BRP oil with no issues.

Go to your dealer, and pick up some of the proper oil for the bike...
Some of the others will work just fine; what is your peace of mind worth to you? :dontknow:

It tells you on the side of your oil tank, the recommended oil to use, and if you can't get the recommended
oil, call your dealer to get advice on an alternative.
And as others have said, read your manual and check the oil as per the instructions.
